1. Name your video file
Cat 1 is Primary Animation Cat 2 is Primary Live ActionCat 4 is Secondary Animation Cat 5 is Secondary Live Action
- Important: name your video file in the following format. If you have multiple entries add numbers to the end of the file name.
‘Cat#_school name’ or ‘Cat#_first name_surname’ eg. ‘Cat2_underwoodprimary4’ or ‘Cat5_sally_smith’
2. Write synopsis and save a list of names of students
- Save a 50-60 word synopsis and a list of all the participating students into a text document ready to paste into the entry form.
3a.Schools submitting 5 or more entries: - Contact [email protected] to receive information on entering your students’ work by post.- Then procede to Step 7 - Complete the Screen It online entry form.
3b. All those submitting less than 5 entries:Create a YouTube account. (If you already have a YouTube account, proceed to number 3)
- Go to youtube.com and sign in.- Click the ‘Create an Account’ button. Follow YouTube’s instructions.

5. Upload your video file- Sign in and click the ‘upload’ button at the top right.- IMPORTANT: In the ‘privacy’ field select ‘Unlisted’.
Note: You can upload multiple movies easily by following YouTube’s guide on the bottom right of the Upload screen.
- Ensure you have named your file correctly (see step 1). This is essential so we can track your file. (eg. ‘Cat2_underwoodprimary4’ or ‘Cat5_sally_smith’)
- Select the video you are entering (eg. CAT2_Stephen_Stephens.mov). It may take several minutes to upload.

6. Copy the URL
Save your film’s URL and when prompted paste it into the Screen It Entry Form. Note: when you go to view your uploaded video, the URL in the browser is the link you need to copy.
7. Complete the Screen It online entry form.
Go to: http://projects.acmi.net.au/screenit/2015/entry/Copy the URL of your newly uploaded video and paste it into the online form when prompted.
