Imagine now that you are a construction company and you are asked to do a study to determine the viability to build a dam to supply drinking water to certain city. To be able to carry out the study, you need first to geographically locate the dam. Answer the following questions: a. Which kind of maps you will need and why? Physical maps because I need to explore the area where I will construct the dam. b. How would you do the study? Explore the area and search with the map the best location to construct the dam’s barrier. 2. Conclude your activity addressing the importance of the use of geographical coordinates, maps, and cartographic projections in your everyday life. First of all, without geographic coordinates we wouldn’t have discovered the equator and the prime meridian and it would be difficult to identify the climates in each region in the Earth. Without maps, of course, there will be lots of problems for locating yourself anywhere, find a place you need to go would be the most complicated thing in your life. There wouldn’t exist any representation of the Earth without projections.

1. Imagine now that you are a construction company and you are asked to do a study to

determine the viability to build a dam to supply drinking water to certain city. To be able to

carry out the study, you need first to geographically locate the dam. Answer the following

questions:

a. Which kind of maps you will need and why? Physical maps because I need to explore

the area where I will construct the dam.

b. How would you do the study? Explore the area and search with the map the best

location to construct the dam’s barrier.

2. Conclude your activity addressing the importance of the use of geographical coordinates,

maps, and cartographic projections in your everyday life.

First of all, without geographic coordinates we wouldn’t have discovered the equator

and the prime meridian and it would be difficult to identify the climates in each region in

the Earth.

Without maps, of course, there will be lots of problems for locating yourself anywhere,

find a place you need to go would be the most complicated thing in your life.

There wouldn’t exist any representation of the Earth without projections.
