AIESEC  Eau  Claire  |  Quarter  1  Report

Let  me  first  begin  by  saying  that  Quarter  1  has  been  an  exciAng  Ame  for  AIESEC  Eau  Claire!  We  are  experiencing  growth  in  all  sectors  at  a  scale  that  has  never  been  seen  in  a  very   long  Ame.   I  remember  when  I  first  joined  AIESEC  in  the  fall  of   2009   and   had   my   fair   share   of   ups   and  downs.  Having  had  the  opportunity  to  be  under  three   very   unique   leaderships   before   finally  taking  the  helm,  I  feel  that  we  have  come  a  long  way  since  then.        The   saying   goes   that   success   breeds   more  success.  There  is  no  greater  truth  than  this.  We  started   this  quarter   strong,  with  a   tremendous  success   at   recruitment   followed   by   our   first  realizaAon   of   a   traineeship,   a   feat   not   seen   in  more   than   3   years.   We   went   on   to   represent  AIESEC   Eau   Claire   at   the   Regional   OrientaAon  Kick   Off   Seminar   (ROKS)   with   an   outstanding  aaendance  of  30  members,  second  only  to  our  hosts   AIESEC   Madison.   Let   us   not   forget   to    menAon   that   we   finally   have   a   magnificent  Board   of   Advisors   comprised.   It   makes   me  proud   to   see  how  much  AIESEC  Eau  Claire  has  matured   into   a   plaborm   for   leadership  development  that  is  impacAng  the  lives  of  UW-‐Eau  Claire  students.

My  ExecuAve  Board  and  I  have  made  a  promise  to  foster  a  culture  of  Excellence,  CreaAvity  and  Sustainability   within   AIESEC   Eau   Claire   and   I  believe  we  are  holding  true  to  our  promise  with  the   performance   in   Q1.  We   strive   to   conAnue  our  success  for  the  rest  of  the  year.  This   is  the  year   AIESEC   Eau   Claire   makes   that   homerun.  The   foundaAon   is   set   and   we   only   have   the  stars  to  shoot  for.

The  Vice  President’s  Report:  In  Quarter  1  of  2012  was  a  very  producAve  Ame   for   Outgoing   Exchange.   During   this  Ame  we   received   online   trainings   from   the  Vice   President   of   Outgoing   Exchange   for  AIESEC-‐United   States   on   segmented  recruitment  and  using  the  updated  database  of   work   experiences   abroad.   From   our  recruitment   we   received   12   applicaAons  from   students   at   the   University   of  Wisconsin-‐Eau  Claire  that  were  interested  in  going  abroad  through  AIESEC.  The  Outgoing  Exchange   team   read   through   the  applicaAons  and  interviewed  these  students  and   decided   to   raise   11   these   applicants.  During  Quarter   1  we   already  matched   1   of  these   exchange   parAcipants   with   a   work  experience  abroad.      A  liHle  on  Quarter  2:  In   Quarter   2   of   2012   we   have   already  matched   2   of   exchange   parAcipants   with

work   experiences.   The   total   3   exchange  parAcipants  already  matched  will  be  abroad  on  their  work  experiences  before  the  end  of  Quarter   2,   thus   realized.   Some   of   the  exchange   parAcipants   recruited   has   chosen  not   to   go   abroad   of   this   summer   for   a  variety   of   reasons:   found   other   summer  work,   received   a   leadership   posiAon   in  AIESEC,   or   other   personal   reasons.   All   of  these   exchange   parAcipants   expressed  interest   in   going   abroad   through   AIESEC  next   summer.   We   are   currently   working  with  the  risk  management  of  the  University  of  Wisconsin-‐Eau  Claire   to  figure  out  which  university  guidelines  AIESEC-‐Eau  Claire  must  follow   when   sending   students   abroad,  specifically  dealing  with  insurance  and  travel  warnings.

The  Vice  President’s  Report:  This   quarter   CommunicaAons   focused   on  conAnuingly   communicaAng   with   our  communiAes.  We   effecAvely   adverAsed   for  our   general   member   recruitment   and   our  exchange   parAcipant   recruitment.  We   took  advantage  of  tradiAonal  ads  such  as  posters,  table   tents,  white   boarding   and   class   room  talks.   We   also   used   social   media   like,  Facebook,   twiaer,   and   our   website   to   let  students   know   about   our   info   sessions.  Overall,  it  was  very  successful.  We  averaged  around   25   students   for   the   3   of   our   info  sessions.

Aker   recruitment   was   done   we  focused   increasing   campus   awareness   of  AIESEC.   We   held   campus   events   and  updated  our  blogs.  We  also  kept  in  constant

contact   with   our   alumni   by   sending   out  newsleaers.      Our  goals  for  the  next  quarter  will  focus  on  creaAng  new  and  fresh  posters  to  adverAse  AIESEC.  We  also  want   to  uAlize   twiaer   in  a  more  effecAve  and  professional  manner.  We  want  the  students  on  campus  to  know  who  we   are,   what   we   do,   and   why   we   are   the  best  student  organizaAon  on  campus.

AIESEC  Eau  Claire  |  Quarter  1  Report

The  Vice  President’s  Report:  One  of  TM’s  goals  for  Quarter  1  was  to  hold  a   successful   recruitment   that   would   grow  our   Local   Commiaee   to   keep   up   with  exchange   demand.   We   held   informaAon  sessions   which   51   students   aaended.    We  subsequen t l y   r e ce i ved   28   on l i ne  applicaAons   for   membership   of   which   we  accepted  19.  6  members  dropped  out  in  the  first  2  months  and  at  the  end  of  the  quarter  68%  of   new  members  were   fully   trained   in  their  funcAonal  areas.

For   Quarter   2   we   hope   to   have   a   100%  member   retenAon   rate   and   have   all  members   fully   trained   in   their   funcAonal  areas.   We   will   not   be   recruiAng   any  members   this   quarter   and   will   focus   on  preparing   for   recruitment,   which   will  occur  at  the  end  of  Quarter  3.

The  Vice  President’s  Report:  Over  the   last  quarter,   the  finance  team  has  been   working   hard   to   keep   the   LC  sustainable   and  diversify   its   assets.   Finance  conAnues   to   track   the   revenues   and  expenses  of   the  LC,  while   re-‐budgeAng  and  diversifying   revenues   to   keep   the   LC   on  track.  We  have  been  working  on  diversifying  revenues  through  membership  dues,  raising  TN’s,  matching  EP’s,  and  applying  for  grants  and  sponsorships.

Finance   has   also   been   working   on  increasing   revenue   and   cash   flows   to   fund  this   years   upcoming   SNC   in   ConnecAcut.  This   will   allow   LC   and   EB   members   to  achieve   training   and   personal   growth

opportuniAes   to   conAnue   the   sustainability  and  growth  of  AIESEC.      Over  the  past  quarter  the  finance  team  has  also   been   applying   for   grants   and  sponsorships   to   conAnue   to   keep   AIESEC  sustainable.   The   LC   has   received   its   first  grant   of   $150   from   Wal-‐Mart   and   will   be  applying  for  more  in  the  future.
