AMA Foundation Award Recipient Term Breakdown
Objec*ve: To collect the most up-‐to-‐date informa>on from recipients awarded in each program. What are the programs? The programs are scholarships and grants awarded to provide financial assistance for the advancement of healthcare.
Who are the award recipients? Medical students, residents, physicians, and community-‐based organiza>ons have benefited from the AMA Founda>on’s medical scholarships and grants.

Step 1: Meet with Database Coordinator Step 1: To ini>ate the first step of the process, it is necessary to determine which data fields will be selected for the Raiser’s Edge export.

Step 2: Exporting the Data Step 2: This step involves the expor>ng of data from the Raiser’s Edge database to an Excel Spreadsheet.

Step 3: Cross Check Step 3: Each individual’s informa>on from the Raiser’s Edge export needs to be crosschecked with the informa>on from the AIMS Database (AMA operated physician database). Recipient informa>on is color coded as followed:
Black: Informa>on is up to date Green: New informa>on has been added Blue: Informa>on has been changed Red: Recipient is missing important informa>on Pink: Recipient is deceased Orange: Add to Raiser’s Edge Database
* All new and exis,ng informa,on will be carried over to the “Master Corrected List” Spreadsheet

Step 4: Find Missing Recipients Step 4: Because of data entry error, award recipients may not have been added to the Raiser’s Edge database. This step requires searching through press releases and recipient binders from all programs and years to determine missing recipients. Press releases and recipient binders can be found in the AMA Founda>on’s shared computer drive.
* All missing recipients will be added to the “Not in Raiser’s Edge” Spreadsheet and will be carried over to the “Master Corrected List” Spreadsheet

Step 5: Document all Data Recipients are organized on Microsoc Excel sheets accordingly:
– “Exported Raiser’s Edge” (Sheet 1): All award recipients that have been previously recorded to the Raiser’s Edge database
– “Not in Raiser’s Edge” (Sheet 2): Any recipients that were not recorded in the Raiser’s Edge database but in recipient binders and press releases
– “Master Corrected List” (Sheet 3): All recipients that have received an award including recipients in Raiser’s Edge,
recipient binders, and press releases

• 29 Award Recipients need to be added to Raiser’s Edge Database
• Out of all recipients, 79 are missing important informa>on
• Only 4% of Award Recipients have given a gic to the AMA Founda>on
• Only 4% of Award Recipients have volunteered for the AMA Founda>on
