  • • Use a stitch marker. If you use a running stitch marker, place it between the first and last stitch on your starting magic circle before continuing with round 2, and loop it over again with each new round. It should go back and forth over the rounds, all the way up through your work. If you use a plastic stitch marker, place it in the first stitch of each new round, starting with round 2 after the magic circle.• Fill the body with fiberfill stuffing or your stuffing of choice. You

can use your wooden cuticle stick to help get the stuffing into tight spaces. Make sure to use the same amount of stuffing for corresponding body parts so that they look the same.• Don’t cut the yarn between colour changes. Leave it

hanging at the back of your work (inside your toy) until you need it again. Secure the first and last colour change with a knot. Make sure that the yarn is held tightly at the back of your work.

Pattern Notes:• Work in continuous rounds.

Don’t join or turn your work unless instructed by the pattern.• Leave a long yarn tail when you

finish each body part so that you can easily join the parts.• Use your row counter to keep

track of your rows, if necessary.

How to create a magic circle

Step 1. Lay the yarn over your hand with the end at the bottom.

Step 2. Twist the yarn around your pointer and middle fingers.

Step 3. Cross the yarn over the other strand on top of your hand.

Step 4. Insert your hook under the first strand in front and pull up the second strand at the back to form a loop on your hook.

Step 5. With a loop on your hook, slide your hook under-neath the yarn and pull through.

Step 6. Your fingers should still be resting inside the magic circle at this point.

Step 7. Remove your fingers from inside the magic circle and tighten the stitch if necessary.

Step 8. Your stitches will be made inside the magic circle you have just created.

    Make a slipknot:

Attach to bunny head by inserting your hook into a stitch at the bottom of the head, yarn over and pull through. You are now ready to start to create your chain.

Arrange your beads in the order you want to use them and insert the chain into the hole in each bead until they are all safely on the chain.

Bring your pacifier clip close to your work, with the “open” end facing the end of the chain farthest from the bunny. Insert your hook into the last chain you made, yarn over and pull up a loop. You are now ready to attach your pacifier clip.

    Pacifier chain & beads

Chain 50 – 60 stitches (depending on your tension) and keep mea-suring to make sure you can fit all of your wooden and silicone beads. Once you have created a chain long enough, you can start threading your beads. Cut your yarn, but leave a very long yarn tail.

  • Once you get to the one end, turn your work and slip stitch into the single crochets you just created. When you reach the middle where the chain is attached, single crochet around the bar of the clip until you reach the other side.

Insert your hook into the pacifier clip’s opening, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through, creating a single crochet in the pro-cess. Continue crocheting around the bar of the pacifier clip as shown to securely attach the clip to your chain.

Turn, and slip stitch into all stitches until you reach the middle. Fasten off and weave in your ends.

    1. Magic circle & 6 sc into it

Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail to attach the ears to the head.

    3. Increase across (12)

    Bunny Ears (make 2)

    2. Sc in each stitch across (6)

    4 – 12. Sc in each stitch across (10 rounds) (12)

Fold the base of the ear in half and sew closed as shown.

Your bunny ears are now ready to attach to the bunny’s head.

  • Attach the second ear with the same method. Remove the pins as you go along. Check that you are happy with the position before you cut the yarn. Copyright © Amigurumi ZA 2020

    How to attach ears

Insert a pin on both sides of the second round on the head. Check that you are happy with the position.

Position the ears with the pin on the outside of the ear. Use the pins to secure the ears in place while you attach them.

Sew the ears in place by inserting your needle into a stitch on the body and into the front loop on the outside of the ear. Don’t skip any stitches.

How to embroider cute closed eyes

Insert your hook into the stitch marked by the pin on the far right, crossing to the left.

Place a pin in the the middle of a stitch in the centre of your bunny’s head, with the ears facing forward. Count one stitch to either side and place another pin (shown as yellow pins here). Now count 3 stitches on each side and place another pin on each side (black pins).Cut off a piece of charcoal yarn and make a double knot on the end.

Hide the yarn tail inside your work, and insert your needle into the stitch to the right.

Insert your hook diagonally above the previous stitch and pull through.

Now go up and across as shown and pull through.

  • Now insert your needle back into the previous stitch to create the horizontal bar, and then into the stitch marked by the yellow pin, and out where the other yellow pin is located.

Start the second eye by going diagonally across to the left as shown. Repeat the exact same process as on the right side, but in reverse.

  • How to attach pacifier to chain

To attach the pacifier to the chain, we’re creating loop of chains long enough to go around the pacifier.

To do this, create a slipknot, insert your hook into the back of your bunny’s head and chain 30 - 50 chains, depending on how long you want it to be. It’s a good idea to test it out to see that you can actually pull the loop over the pacifier and the chain.

Once you are happy with the length of your chain, insert your hook back into your bunny’s head, yarn over and slipstitch. Fasten off and weave in your ends.

Well done! You’ve created your first bunny pacifier chain. You can adapt this pattern to suit any girl or boy baby, the possibilities are endless!
