SCHOOL LIBRARY
“CHECK US OUT!”
The Bondurant-Farrar Libraries were lucky enough to receive a grant from Prairie
Meadows for $8,000 for our
“Check Us Out!” project.
“CHECK US OUT!”
Old books were weeded, new books were added, and a
celebration of reading was planned
for each of the libraries.

First we needed to
promote the project…
RIDIN’ THE BUS…I rode the bus to share the good news.

I rode each of the 11 buses……I promoted all the new books we were to receive in each library…
…and had a BLAST!
I gave away
bookmarks
to get them
interested.
Students of all ages were
very interested in
the new books coming
to their libraries!
…to party!
Then we were ready
ANDERSON ELEMENTARYSCHOOL
celebrates new books and reading!
“Reading counts in the Library!”
Students matched pieces of the poster puzzle with numbers to
create a picture!

Books were everywhere...
We shared gobs of stickers and scratch-n- sniff bookmarks to aid in providing a party atmosphere!
Many titles to READ! (over 300 in the elementary)

Mrs. Hackett and Mr. Skinner kicked off the fun.

Classes came to the library to see the new books.

And promoted titles and series by writing all over our covered tables.

THROUGH THIS GRANT WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO SOME UPDATING TO COLLECTIONS IN OUR LIBRARIES.
THE CELEBRATIONS WERE AN ADDED PLUS!
