Chief Information Commissioner as well as two other commissioners appointed and office established. The commission has already started receiving complaints and started acting upon them

Right to Services Act 2014
Another milestone towards timely services, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa become first province to pass ‘Right to Public Services Act 2014’
This act ensures citizens’ access to public service within specific time limit
In case of any failure of provision of public service by designated officer within specific time limit, the citizen may file complaint to the concerned authority and commission
On failure of provision of services within specific time limit, the commission may impose fine on culprit along with order to pay a certain portion of fine to the aggrieved as compensation
Commissioners under Right to Public Services act 2014 have been notified and started working

based recruitment and promotions, Management Councils have been constituted
Comprising of apolitical and well-reputed members to ensure transparent procurement of medicine, equipment, merit based recruitment and promotions
In the past, all non-official members of councils were either law makers of ANP and PPP or their close affiliates
Doctors’ Service Structure The issue, which creates tension between government and doctors
in other provinces and resulting suffering patients, has been resolved by KP Government

backward Districts under ‘Maternal Health Services’ for which Rs.300 Million have been allocated and ‘Immunization Services’ for which Rs.200 Million have been allocated
A woman who will visit for regular checkup during pregnancy and after delivery will be paid Rs.2700. Program has been started
Every child who will complete the immunization course would be paid Rs.1000. Program has been started
Mobile Health Services Mobile Health Services has been inaugurated
in 15 districts to provide services at door step
‘Sehat ka Insaf’ Immunization Campaign
KP Government with support of Donor agencies executed an unprecedented immunization campaign ‘Sehat Ka Insaf’ in Peshawar District. Peshawar was declared ‘Largest Reservoir of Poliovirus in the world’ by WHO
The campaign comprises twelve rounds, covered more than 7 lac children of Peshawar District in each round
For the first time in last 4 years, samples of poliovirus test negative from Peshawar this year which is great hope
Sehat ka Insaf included routine immunizations against nine vaccine-preventable childhood diseases such as Measles, Pneumonia, Meningitis, Hepatitis-B, Tetanus, Pertussis (whooping cough), Diphtheria, Polio and Tuberculosis
‘Sehat ka Insaf’ campaign also expands to Distrcit Charsadda, Swabi and Mardan

Independent Monitoring Units
IMU has been established. Its scope is to monitor regular attendance of teachers, students, missing facilities and assess future requirements
IMU will monitor all 28,000 schools in the province
Smart Phones with Application Software will be provided to all Monitors which will confirm the presence of monitors on desired location and ensure the provision of required data
475 monitors, equipped with GPS enabled PDAs visit 28,000 schools to monitor attendance
IMU has been placed under E&SED, directly reporting to Secretary, E&SED. At the District level IMU district staff will report to District Monitoring Officer who will report to District Steering Committee and Director IMU at provincial level.

Tameer-e-School
‘Tameer-e-School’ Program has been launched, an Initiative to fund missing facilities in hundreds of schools in KP under
Total 250 Schools from Peshawar, Nowshera, Abbotabad, Mardan, and D.I.Khan selected i.e. 50 from each district
122 schools and details of missing facilities already posted on website www.tameer-e-school.pk and people have been asked to provide missing facilities of any school of their own choice
A first time ever in Pakistan program to improve the standards of all government schools in KP
A program through which interested individuals and organizations donate for the efforts
Main areas of focus include, Boundary walls, Sanitation, Classrooms, Furniture, Drinking water etc.
Enrollment Campaign Enrollment Campaign ‘Parho aur Zindagi
Badlo’ has been launched for Year 2014
Between August-November 2013, approx 3,00,000 out of school children were enrolled under this campaign
School Clustering To improve standard of education in public
sector schools, clusters have been formed wherein 6 primary and 2-3 middle schools will be given under the supervision of one principal of a high or higher secondary school
23,000 clusters already notified and system will be operational soon
Uniform Curriculum
Phase wise Uniform Curriculum has been introduced in Academic session started in April 2014
Books according to new curriculum and in English medium for Grade-1 have been published and distributed

Unlike past, this year Free Text Books in KP published and distributed on time and well-managed
Cheating-Free SSC Examination
KP Government took several steps to ensure ‘cheating-free’ SSC examination including
CCTV cameras in selected centers as pilot project. Will be expand next year
MNAs, MPAs, Commissioners made frequent visits to Examination Centers
CM had request opposition on assembly floor to pint out any cheating in examination halls but they failed to point out any incident. Civil society and teachers associations also appreciated cheating-free examination
Teachers’ Recruitment Shortage of Teachers
Due to negligence of previous government, shortage of teachers were accounted for 14000
In Phase-1, KP Government has recruited 8000 teachers
In Phase-II, KP Government has initiated process for more 6000 teachers
Merit Based Recruitment
In past, teachers recruitments were always polluted with political interference
To curb any political or government interference, teachers have been recruited through well-reputed NTS. The results are directly announced by NTS on its website.

Phase wise training targeting ‘23000 trained teachers’ has been started from January 2014
Training for ‘Master Trainers’ has also been conducted in various subjects
