The population will continue to grow till the equilibrium is achieved.

i.e. number of births=number of deaths.

Population is growing by 90 million/year.

Of which 93% in developing countries.

REASONS FOR GROWTHEvery second 4-5 children are born and

2 people die.Lack of value education is the major

cause for population .

1.RATE OF BIRTH(FERTILITY)Number of babies produced per 1000

individual is defined as the rate of birth.

2. MORTALITYDeath rates per thousand individual is

defined as mortality.

3. MIGRATIONMovement of an individual into or out

of place /country.

POPULATION EXPLOSION

An enormous growth of human beings is called as population explosion.

CAUSES1.High fertility rate due to poor family planning

2.Reduced infant mortality rate3.Social insecurity and importance of male child

4.Poverty and backwardness5.Predominating religious or superstitious nature.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS

Pollution: increase of vehicles and emission of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Deforestation: to cut trees for building their houses. Freshwater Availability: increase in waste production

and contamination of water. Natural Resources: increase of fossil fuels, excessive

use of coal. Global Warming: overall increase in temperature and

chances of natural disaster Habitat Loss: change in ecosystems affecting tropic

levels.

Values deals with one’s own principles and standards from which we judge what is right and wrong .
