JANUARY 26, 2016- BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI

Target Audience/Objective

Our target audience is parents of a school

district in order to gain support for the A.L.I.C.E.

program.

The purpose is to gain stakeholder buy-in.

Citizens Need to be Prepared

Citizen preparation

Average response time of law enforcement to

an active killer scene: 5-6 Minutes

Preparation is nothing new

We know what to do in the case of a

tornado or fire…what about a violent

intruder?

We have three NATURAL

responses..

Fight: Counter strategies

Flight: Evacuate

Freeze: Lockdown (Secure-in-Place)

Which course of action is preferred?

Supporting Data

28 vs. 2 (fatalities)

Passive vs. Proactive

When faced with danger, you must DO something.

Alert

Provide as much real-time information

as possible

Use all means available: Texts, PA, social

media, digital signage, etc.

Lockdown

Locked doors provide a time barrier

Barricade: a stronghold that nobody

can breach

Barricade #1

Barricade #2

Barricade #3

Inform

Use this information to make single or

collective decisions as the best option

for survival

Counter

Different ways to interrupt the skill set

needed to shoot accurately.

Engage in acts that will require very high

skill level:

Noise, movement, distance,

distractions

Counter Strategy: Video

See separate video attached

Evacuate

Only 2% of violent intruder events have

been made by more than one person
