“Adventures in Wonderland” has been delightfully

adapted by Shauna and Vern Adix and artfully recreated

on the stage by director, Randall Earnest assisted by

Koty Mansfield and Jordan Hancock.

The broken maroon tiles have been replaced, and the

ticket window is new. The Royal is being restored inch

by inch to the glory of Wallace and Lena Kauffman’s

1949 remodel. We thank Curtis Ferguson for a gen-

erous donation which will help with the cost of the tile

and Dan Billingsley and crew for working with us.

Those who paid to name a seat, thank you, too. (And,

of course, we will be glad to accept other donations for

restoration project.)

The W.W. and Anne Jones Charitable Trust proudly presents The Royal Players production of Rodgers and

Hammerstein’s The King and I, set for July 12-14, July 19-21 and July 26-28 at the Royal Theatre in down-

town Benton. Tim Sopel is directing with Greg Taylor as music director and Randall Earnest as assistant di-

rector.

Returning to the Royal stage are Harold Dean as King Mongkut of Siam and Paige Carpenter as Anna

Leonowens. Tiffany Martin and Amber Combs both make their stage debuts as Tuptim and Lady Thiang,

Matthew McCallister stars as Crown Prince Chulalongkorn and Erica Martin is featured as Princess Ying

Yaowlak. Maxx Branford returns to the Royal for a second summer as Lun Tha after starring last year in Sam

Taggert’s original production Nobody’s Business, and Chris Counts stars as the Kralahome. Rounding out the

cast is Jeremy Hanson is Sir Edward Ramsey and Perry Bland is Sir John Hay. Daniel Lieblong is Captain Or-

ton and Dalton Johnston makes his debut as Louis Leonowens. The King’s junior wives are played by Cassie

Lovell, Jessica Alvarado, Rylee Bolles, Nicole Rutherford, Alethea McNary, Anna Darr, Sofia Stewart, Alyssa

Ayres, and Isabelle Marchese. The Royal Princes and Princesses are Anna Simmons, Laurine Simmons, Chloe

Luna, Caitlyn Luna, Jayden Tyler, Keagon Tyler, Madison Stolzer, Lauren Long, Jayden Kendell, Sophie McFar-

land, Libby Golleher, Erin Johnston, Noah Lee, Lola Tate, Syrah Mien, Sirene Mien, Sydney Cyr, Savannah

Bosley, and Gracie Atchley. Tierney Earnest portrays the Amazon guard; and Jacan Earnest, Greg Blacklaw,

and Nathan Eldridge are featured as monks. Randall Earnest is the Interpreter and Director Tim Sopel makes

a cameo appearance as Buddha.
