First consider the frame’s
size. It should be in proportion to your face. If your face is small, large frames will draw attention to the glasses. If your face is large, small frames will make it appear even larger.

Cheer up! Even if glasses are a necessity, they’re a great fashion
accessory. But with the hundreds of styles, shapes, and colors to choose
from, how do you go about selecting one
that compliments your face?
Make the right choice The number of choices can be dizzying, so here are a few simple steps to ensure that the glasses you choose suit your face.
There are two ways to think about the style of our everyday glasses. One way is for them to go unnoticed. That is, they can be inconspicuous, not stand out, and should be neutral in color to match all your clothing. Or, your glasses can reflect your personality. That is, they can be unique and noticeable and express your personal style. Either way you decide to go, make sure you really love your choice. Unless you have money for more than one pair, you can’t afford to hate your glasses the day after you get them!

laying out magazine pages. Girls arrived at Kiki Central with their own layouts of previous Kiki articles, and after much sharing, Abi
from Kiki Creative divulged all that goes into making
magazine pages layouts at Kiki. So much creativity in one room!

Kiki recently hosted a night of fun for two troops from Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.Held at Kiki Central, the girls got an inside look at how the magazine is made, met the Kiki team, and had fun doing three different magazine-related activities. When they weren’t checking off badge requirements, girls in each troop were...

Designing their own t-shirt transfers.Sharpies—and conversation—were flying as girls cranked out colorful and interesting designs. No two were alike! Jamie from Kiki Editorial helped each girl scout convert their designs to iron-on t-shirt transfers using software and special paper.
Creating
Spring color forecasts. Amy from Kiki Marketing kept the girls’ baskets stocked with ribbon and fabric scraps, and the tackboards
were packed with great combinations. Each girl scout created her own Spring 2011 color forecast and came up with some pretty neat names like “Patter Passion,” “Springtime Breeze,” and “Wilderness.”

Tender Loving CareCaring for your glasses is extremely important. Use a micro-fiber cloth made for eyeglasses to clean your lenses. If you don’t have one handy, use the bottom of a soft T-shirt. Any other material will either scratch the lenses or leave dust particles that may go into your eyes. Don’t use glass cleaner, as it may damage the lenses. Instead, clean your glasses with regular dish soap and water (nothing fancy required). Keep your glasses out of direct sunlight and extreme cold temperature. Extremes will warp the frames. Attach them to a fashionable strap around your neck during sports or physical activity so you don’t lose them.
SIzeFirst consider the frame’s size. It should be in proportion to your face. If your face is small, large frames will draw attention to the glasses. If your face is large, small frames will make it appear even larger.
Colors like black, dark brown, and tortoise shell, may give your face a harder, old-fashioned look. Beige, off-white, or translucent frames flatter most skin tones. If your skin is blotchy or blemished, avoid shades of green, blue, and purple. Those colors tend to give blemished skin an unattractive dull color.
COlORYour glasses must fit properly. Your pupils should be in the center of the lenses. Your eyebrows should be visible either over or under the top of the frames. Frames that cover part of the eyebrows are too
big and look out of proportion for the face.
If you require thick lenses, choose a frame that is small, Otherwise the glasses will be too heavy and will either slide off your face or leave a pressure mark on each side of the nose.

can be fun. Make a day out of it. Bring along a friend whose opinion you trust to give you a second opinion. Take your time, and don’t rush it. After all, you’ll be wearing them about twelve hours a day, so be sure to select exactly what you like.
Choosing your glasses
No matter how stylish the frames, they won’t look right if the shape is wrong for your face. Here are some tips for common face shapes:
• OvalAn oval face can wear most frame styles, but the most complimentary are geometric or rounded.
• Oblong Round or curved frames will emphasize the width of your face rather than the length.
• Round A square or angled frame will give your features a sharp outline.
• triangle If your jaw is wider than your forehead, choose aviator-style glasses or geometric styles to balance the width of the lower part of your face.
• Square Round frames, cat-eyed, or oval style soften the lines of a square face.
