Her colleagues in Marbel National High School fondly call her, Mommy. Her parents, the late Pedro Camillo Sebastian and Maria Alagano Miranda, named her Jovita. Her very first cry was heard reverberating in the neighborhood of Katidtuan, Kabacan, Cotabato on May 13, 1948.
Before Mommy tied the knot with a man of her dream, she was Jovita Miranda Sebastian. She became Jovita Sebastian Salvatierra after exchanging “I do’s” with Jacinto Jornadal Salvatierra, an educator-turned businessman. Her life shared with Jacinto was blessed by God with five kind-hearted, God-fearing children:
