+What worked well

ΔWhat to change next time

• Team Building• Strength Finders Survey- Identifying

Strengths and weaknesses • Compass Points Protocol-learning how

to work with others• Everything seems more organized this

year• We followed the agenda

• More time to set up classrooms placed in the schedule

• We didn’t post the “Norms” everytime we met

Step 2: Build Assessment Literacy

INCREASED COMFORT WITH DATA

11

Step 2: Our Process

• We analyzed our baseline assessment the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) to determine how best to utilize the data.

• We decided that the SRI alone is not the best indicator for interventions.

• We decided that the SRI should be used for devising baseline small groups however, the weekly Common Assessment data will be the driving force to make decisions and help students

set short term goals.• We identified our focus standards and expected outcomes

and used this information to create Common Assessments.

• What will we assess students on?• How will we use this data?• What will be our next steps?• What does the assessment look like?• What standards should we align the assessment

with?• What is our turnaround time for reteaching?

+What worked well

ΔWhat to change next time

• We received a lot of useful information• We are all on the same page• We are being heard and have a say in

making some decisions• I feel comfortable • I am excited about reading the text as

a group-Close Read by Kylene Beers• Everyone took responsibility for

devising the Common Assessment• I am moderately comfortable using

data to make decisions

• I am worried that with all I have to do that I will get overwhelmed

• I have not had a lot of experience making data driven decisions

• I hope that we actually use our Data Notebooks this year (TAN)
