SOCIO-CULTURAL REASONSNchiru has been the traditional central meeting place for the entire Meru community since time immemorial. It is the Njuri Nchekecouncil of elders headquarters and the Njuri Ncheke shrine is situated here. Here the Njuri Ncheke has 26 acres of land muchof which is under developed.The site also has experienced an economic boost after the council of elders donated 100 acres of land to Meru University whohave built a campus opposite the council’s headquarters.GEOGRAPHICAL REASONSNchiru is centrally located within the Meru county.It is located in between Meru town and Kianjai town on the way to Maua form Meru town. This is a class C road connecting Meru town to Maua town.
