Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
“There is a special feature of the Islamic state which must not be overlooked. There,
obedience is due to God and God alone, which takes practical shape in the observance of the
Quranic principles and commands. In Islam, obedience is due neither to a king, nor to a
parliament, nor to any other organization. It is the Quranic provisions which determine the
limits of our freedom and restrictions in political and social spheres. In other words, the
Islamic state is an agency for enforcement of the Quranic principles and injunctions”.
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
(Interview to the students of Osmania University, August 1941)
Messages for Nation
”Do not be over whelmed by the enormity of the task. There is many an example in history of
young nations building themselves up by sheer determination and force of character. You are
made of sterling material and are second to none. Why should you also not succeed like many
others, like your own forefathers. You have only to develop the spirit of the "Mujahids". You are
a nation whose history is replete with people of wonderful gifts, character and heroism. Live up
to your traditions and add to it another chapter of glory.
All I require of you now is that everyone of us to whom this message reaches must vow to
himself and be prepared to sacrifice his all, if necessary, in building up Pakistan as a bulwark
of Islam and as one of the greatest nations whose ideal is peace within and peace without”.
Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
(“The Task Ahead” Speech at the University Stadium, Lahore on 30th October. 1947)
Is PAKISTAN
a Secular State?

"There has been a debate whether the objective of independence was to make Pakistan as an Islamic or Secular
State. The best way to determine the answer of this question is to see what the Founder of this nation has said about
it. So, let us go through the following statements and see as what “Quaid–e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah said about
the nature and system of this great country".
”Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Governor General of Pakistan,
speaking at a reception given to him on the birthday of the Holy
Prophet(P.B.UH) by the bar Association Karachi, said that he could not
understand a section of the people who deliberately wanted to create
mischief and made propaganda that the constitution of Pakistan would not be
made on the basis of Shariah. The Quaid- e- Azam said, “ The Islamic
principles today are as applicable to life as they were 1300 Years ago“
Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
(Address to Bar Association Karachi, January 25, 1948)
“The establishment of Pakistan for which we have been striving for the
last ten years is, by the grace of God, an established fact today, but the
creation of a State of our own was means to an end and not the end in
itself. The idea was that we should have a State in which we could live
and breathe as free men and which we could develop according to our
own rights and culture and where principles of Islamic social justice
could find free play.”
Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
(Address to Civil Naval, Military and Air Force Officers , Kahliqdina Hall, Karachi on October 11, 1947)

“You have fought many a battle on the far flung fields of the globe to get rid
the world of the fascist menace and make it safe for democracy. Now you
have to stand guard over the development and maintenance of Islamic
democracy, Islamic social justice and the equality of mankind in your own
native soil”
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
(Address to officers and Men of Ack-Ack Regiments, Malir, Karachi February 21, 1948)
