SEM History

• Started in 1985

• The Shell Eco Marathon is an energy economy race conducted every year and the primary competitive parameter is minimizing the energy consumption of the vehicle

• 2013-2015 in Rotterdam, Holland. Before that Germany

• 2016 in London, around the old Olympic stadium. Teams from all continents → world championship in fuel economical racing.

• Europe edition 197 teams, >3,000 students from 26 countries

AAU History

• AAU has participated in the race since 2009

• 5 years with two different prototypes

• Since 2014 AAU has participated with the fuel cell power car Cimbre in

the Urban concept category

• In 2014 the team achieved the second place (575 km/L eq) and in 2015

third place (640 km/L eq)
