SAFE RESPONSIBLE RESPECTFUL
From the Relieving Principal
Education Week –
Celebrating local heroes was the state theme for
Education Week this year. Wollondilly celebrated the
achievements of our students with performances in the
GCOPs concert on Monday night, OPEN DAY on
Wednesday and creative arts performances in
Goulburn Plaza on Friday. I hope you had the
opportunity to see your child perform, view their work,
participate in a student workshop or visit their
classroom, stage 3 displays or library.
Thank you to all staff for their commitment in bringing
together a showcase of the wonderful work taking
place every day at Wollondilly.
Sport
This week we had students participating in a Touch
Football knockout with Mr Armstrong. On Monday Au-
gust 17 Mrs Bradley will accompany our girls’ hockey
team to Bega to compete in PSSA Hockey knockout.
An open invitation has been extended to all stage 2
and stage 3 students to participate in a touch football
gala day. We will enter as many teams as possible.
Concert
Concert is now less than five weeks away. Classes are
busily working towards their performance items with a
focus on achieving a vast array of Creative Arts and
English outcomes. Tickets orders have been sent
home. Ask your child for the note if you haven’t seen it
yet. Tickets are allocated on a ‘first in first allocated’
basis.
Public Speaking
Public Speaking finals will be held for all stages this
week. Congratulations to all students on their
participation in public speaking in class and especially
to those who have competed in class and stage finals.
Kindergarten held their finals today. Stage 1, 2 and 3
finals will be held on Thursday. Those competing have
each received a note indicating their selection and the
time of their final. Parents are invited to attend.
Kindergarten 2016
Kindergarten information night will be held on Thursday
night 7pm in the library. If you know of anyone with a
child starting Kindergarten in 2016 please invite them to
attend. Orientation days will be held in term 4 along with
parent/carer interviews.
Parking on Site
For the safety of our students, parents are
requested NOT to park within the school grounds or
drive into the school grounds to collect children.
Parents parking in the disabled car park must have a
disability label displayed in their car. Parking is limited
to the staff of Wollondilly school and My Direction.
Thank you for your co-operation with this concern.

Education!
GCOPS PERFORMANCES AND EDUCATION WEEK
AT SCHOOL
Last week, Education Week, was celebrated across and
in schools in the Goulburn district. Last Monday evening
our choir and dance groups performed at the Goulburn
Worker’s Club with other schools for the GCOPS
concert. Congratulations to all those students who put in
many hours of practise and performed so well on the
night. We are extremely proud of you!
The choir and dance groups also performed at Centro
during the week and were fantastic!! Congratulations.
Many thanks must go to Tiana Gospel who had to sing
without any accompanying music due to a malfunction in
the technology at Centro on the day.
Parents visited the school throughout the week to visit
their children in their classrooms, to watch the
“Jollybops” performance and the Maths day. Stage 3
students presented their wonderful “Australian Identity”
boxes in the hall. The library looked amazing with all the
students’ boomerangs on display and the wonderful
history display that Mrs Fennamore and Mrs Dunn had
so brilliantly assembled.
Many thanks to everyone for all your hard work and for
making the week such a memorable occasion.
NAIDOC ASSEMBLY
The whole school participated in the NAIDOC Week
assembly two weeks ago. An enormous thank you must
go to Mr Crossley and Mr Fagan for valiantly doing their
best to get the technology working. Despite the
technology failure, the school captains conducted the
assembly brilliantly and we all saw the visual
presentation in the library.
YEAR 5 CAMP
Next week, Year 5 will be going to Borambola Sport and
Recreation Camp. They leave on Wednesday 12th
August and return on Friday 14 August. ALL
PARENTS MUST COMPLETE THE MEDICAL/
CONSENT FORM on line before their child has legal
consent to attend. If you have not done this, PLEASE
ENSURE IT IS DONE IMMEDIATELY. A note went
home on Monday 3 August with all the information
concerning what to pack, what to do if your child has to
take medication and other useful information. A final
note will go home this Friday with the information
concerning what time the bus will be leaving and
returning. It will be a lot of fun and we are all looking
forward to the camp.
Jollybops - entertaining the students.

School notes will now be available to download and
print from our school website, if you happen to
misplace or lose your original copy. We will no
longer be reprinting copies of original notes already
sent home. Wollondilly Public School link…..
