The main aim of the technique is counting the number of the persons /visitors in the room very accurately.

When somebody enters in the room then counter is incremented by one, The total number of the persons inside the room is displayed on the seven segment display.

The system is fully controlled by the 8 bit micro controller AT89C2051.

ABSTRACT

The objective of this technique is to make a controller based model to count number of persons visiting particular room .

The micro controller does the above job it receive the signals from sensors, and this signals operated under the control of software which is stored in the ROM.

Here using the sensors to know the present number of persons.

INTRODUCTION

The circuit given here can count numbers from 0 to 9999 in up and down modes depending upon the state of the selector.

It can be used to count the number of persons entering a hall in the up mode at entrance gate.

In the down mode, it can count the number of persons leaving the hall by decrementing the count

Working Principle

In this technique using the microcontroller is AT89C2051 having a low voltage and high performance.

It is a 8 bit microcontroller with 2k bytes of flash programmable and erasable read only memory.

The device is manufactured using Atmel’s high-density nonvolatile memory technology .

IR SENSOR

IR sensor is nothing but a TSOP1736 is a member of IR remote control receiver series.

The IR sensor module consisting of pin diode and preamplifier a pre amplifier which are embedded into a single package .

TSOP module has an inbuilt control circuit for amplifying the coded pulses from the IR transmitter.

It is low power consumption device.

A seven-segment display (SSD), or seven-segment indicator, is a form of electronic display device for displaying decimal numerals that is an alternative to the more complex dot matrix displays.

Seven-segment displays are widely used in digital clocks, electronic meters, basic calculators, and other electronic devices that display numerical information.

This digital counter can also be used in industries. This digital counter can be used in Cinema halls,

multiplex malls as well as in temples to count the number of person entering inside

Applications of digital visitor counter

Whole system will work automatically so it reduces the human work.

High precision and accuracy can be achieved through it.

Used in elevator to prevent the maximum limit of weight.

Advantages of digital visitor conter

IR sensor cannot detect if lot of people are entering at one time.

When microcontroller fails then the entire system fail.

Disadvantages of digital visitor counter

Voice alarm system can be added to indicate that room is full & persons can’t enter inside.

We can increase the maximum number of persons that can be counted by implementing the external EEPROM ic.

We can send this data to a remote location using mobile or internet

We can interface GSM modem to send this data through SMS

FUTURE SCOPE

This technique is useful in developing countries and this technique has a bright future.

This technique helps us to control the light of a room automatically and counts the number of persons or visitors entering and leaving the room.

By using this circuit and proper power supply we can implement various applications such as fans, tube lights etc.
