FROM OUR SCOUT TROOP 332~
SATURDAY, MAY 3RD, 10am to 2pm Boy Scout Troop 332 is holding a car wash in the Moose Family Center’s parking lot! It’s been a long Winter and your car can benefit from some TLC. Why not drive it to the Moose Family Cen-ter on Saturday, May 3rd for a car wash? Our Scouts will do a nice job of washing your car! The car wash
is FREE, but donations are greatly appreciated and will benefit Scouting programs, helping young men become responsible,
productive citizens:
*Participation in events that feed the hungry in our Community
*Sending Scouts to camp where they learn personal responsibility, how to become leaders and how to get along with others
*Keeping our environment clean through Adopt-A-Highway
If you know a boy between the ages of 11-18 who might be inter-ested in joining, tell them to stop in for a visit. We meet Mondays,
7pm, Moose Lodge, 2nd floor.
The St. Pauly’s Clothing Drop Box at the Moose Lodge helps us support Troop 332; please remember to make use of the
box!
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Check out our web site:
www.troop332.net for additional exciting events!
We just got back from the Moose Mid-Year Conference in White Plains, NY. There will be many changes made in the upcoming years with the restructuring of Moose personnel, by-law changes & territo-rial jurisdiction across the Country. More information will follow in the next few months, after returning from the International Convention in Las Vegas in June. Congratulations to our new Board of Officers. I am sure they will continue to do an excellent job under the direction of our new Governor, Kevin Hyland. Also, big thanks to last year’s Officers for a fantastic year they had as a team under Governor, Mark Hutton’s guidance. Along those lines, I am sure if you have any ideas or would like to help out on any event, activity, or committee, your new Officers would like to hear from you. Ask what you can do to help out, do not wait to be asked. On May 31st, the LOOM & WOTM will be holding the Annual Preferred Member Dinner. This annual event is open to all members that have sponsored at least one new or former member into our Lodge or Chapter this past year. Postcards will go out to all eligible members soon. Save the invite, this is your FREE ticket to dinner. Guests are welcome for a small price of the dinner. See front page for details. Remember, June 30th is the cut off date for the R. Robert Dale Scholarship applications. If you have a family member that is a Junior (class of 2015) that could use a $1,000.00 scholarship, their name has to be submitted to Moose International along with signatures, including the Lodge Administrator or Chapter Re-corder. More information and the application are on the Moose website (mooseintl.org) or it can be picked up at the Family Center. Take a moment to check out the enclosed calendar. There are many events and activities coming up soon. Thanks to all our volunteers. You do make the difference. Your help is keeping our Family Center neat and clean, and running smoothly is greatly appreciated! Have a great May & Moose New Year (May 1st-April 30th).

Hellooo Co-workers, I have the honor to have been named Deputy Grand Re-gent for all of New York State. As part of my duties, I will be setting up, and running the Conventions for New York State. The first one was in White Plains, NY, April 24-27, 2014. The second one is in Albany in August. Genesee Valley Henrietta, Chapter 1998, will be the Hostess Chapter in Albany. It will be from Thursday through Sunday, August 21-24, 2014. The Co-workers from our Chapter have al-ready started working on some of the things that need to be done for Albany. But, we need a number of Co-workers to help. If you would like to be a part of the team who will be going to Albany to take on this task, please let me know, or one of the Board of Officers. We will be setting up rides to and from Albany. Any questions you may have about this trip, please, feel free to give me a call at 585-486-4895. Let’s show the rest of New York State what a GREAT CHAPTER we have.
GENESEE VALLEY IS IN THE HOUSE!

GOVERNOR’S REPORT ~ Kevin Hyland
Hi, My Name is Kevin Hyland and I am your Family Center’s Governor for 2014-2015. I do be-lieve most of the membership knows me from my past project involvements, but for those of you who may not – please stop in and introduce yourself to me; I would enjoy meeting you and hearing what you would like to do or see happen to our Family Center during my term as your Governor.
I am excited to work with our newly elected W.O.T.M. Board members. As a team we should be able to do a lot of good for our community as well as for our Family Center; and with that being said - Your Family Center Needs You.
We do have a lot of projects on the “To Do List” and we need your support. The Genesee Val-ley, Henrietta L.O.O.M. 2290 and W.O.T.M. 1998, A Family Center is known throughout NYS as one of the very successful Family Center’s because of our membership’s community generosity and support with the events this Family Center hosts. We are known for our excellent food service due to the dedicated volunteers that support the hard working volunteer kitchen crews. We are very highly respected for the events we host due to the tremendous support of our warm and welcoming membership. Our Social Quarters reputation is another highlight of our Family Center. All of these excellent reputations come at a cost – a cost paid with needing your continued support.
If you have volunteered in the past – we will need your help again this year. Please bring a friend or neighbor with you and show them what a fun time we have hosting events. Who knows – maybe they will want to join.
You know we have almost 1000 members in our Family Center and if two (2) different people did something for the Family Center each day we would only have to help out once (1) a year! Re-member the Moose Credo a goal borne by many!
Some of the projects we will need your support with are: May’s Mother Day Breakfast, June’s Red Wing Game Beer Vending, July’s VA Breakfast, August’s Dick Hale’s 14th Annual Country Jam-boree, and September’s Sportsmen’s Raffle. Many of the above events are organized by our Moose Legion members. If you want to help out at any of these events, just see a member of our Moose Le-gion. Our Moose Legionnaires meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 7 PM. Those who attend these Moose Legion meetings find a lot of special rewards for their support of our Family Centers projects. Or you can contact any of your House Board members and let them know you want to help. Anyway – the point is to get re-connected with your Family Center. You may be sur-prised how good it feels to help others.
Please let me know how I can support your efforts and energies with making this Family Cen-ter a better place. I’m in – Are You?
Sincerely;
Kevin Hyland, Governor LOOM 2290 (2014-2015)
From our Senior Regent ~
Linda Wilkinson
Happy May Everyone! My name is Linda Wilkinson, and I am your new Senior Regent for the 2014-2015 Moose year. I am very excited to get this year off to a running start. Let’s start by “Getting Back to Basics”. I would like to focus on membership this year. Keeping the members that we have, as well getting the message out to the community what we are all about. This is one of my goals. I would also like to remind everyone of the upcoming Convention in August. This Convention is being held in Albany. We are the Hosting Chapter. We are going to need everyone’s help and support for our Lodge and Chapter. This is a very important event for all of us. Let’s make our very own New York State Deputy Grand Regent, Debbie Kelsey, proud! If anyone is interested in helping with events that are going to support this Convention, please contact myself , Dorie Re or Jessica Kamm and we will set you up. Speaking of our very own, Debbie Kelsey, we have a committee actively setting up the dinner to honor her. It is May 17th. Paid reservations are required. You can use the front page reservation and send it in to our Chapter. Or you may put your money and who will be attending in an envelope and put it in the WOTM lockbox outside of the Men’s office. Make sure you specify that this is for Debbie’s dinner on the envelope. I would also like to mention the Craft & Bake Sale coming up in July. I am looking for donations of craft items and baked goods to sell at this sale. All proceeds will go to Lifetime Assistance and our Convention Fund. Of course, if anyone has questions or suggestions, please, feel free to bring them to my attention. All ideas are welcomed and will be taken into consideration. Thank you! Your Senior Regent Linda M. Wilkinson

We will again be volunteering at the Red Wings Baseball games this Summer with the Concessions. We receive a per-centage of the profits and this has been a lucrative fundraiser in the past several years for our organization. This year the WOTM will be only volunteering at the Pop-N-Hots Concession Stand. We will need 8 people to volunteer their time for each event. You will be given a polo shirt too and a visor to wear for this event. The usual time to “start” is 5:30pm and the stand ends usually by 9:30pm (some days sooner). You will be given a small “stipend” to use for your dinner and reimburse-ment for your parking.
