What’s New in Fault Diagnostics 15.0

SP Version

Overview

Fault Diagnostics 15.0 release primarily focuses on Advanced Services and enhancements to the DSL MAX features. It also includes extra functionality to the One Shot Check.

For more detailed information on Advanced Services and DSL Max, please refer to the separate service providers guides.

Changes to the Existing tools

OneShotCheckThe QoS profile obtained from ADQ (Application Driven

Quality of Service) and the QoS (Quality of Service) profile obtained from B-RAS will be compared for consistency.

The reason for a prematurely terminated QoS (Quality of Service) Session will be analyzed by obtaining the transaction details for the specified transaction ID.

The reason for a failed transaction will be retrieved from AE (Application Environment) where applicable.

The Broadband routing section will show the TAM Status field and the appropriate message in case of a TAM Enabled circuit.

Changes to the Existing tools (Contd...)

OneShotCheck The Broadband Routing subtest will include both the AE

(Application Environment) and the ADQ (Application Driven Quality of Service) details of the current EUSC (End User Speed Control) policy.

The PTTR (Performance Testers' Test Result Tool) section in OSC will include 1WQoS (1 Way Quality of service) downstream performance results and analyze the results based on the traffic class attribute.

OneShotCheckThe OSC will continue it’s normal path in case the Service

Status is “In Course Of Cessation”.

xDSLIP subtest will be enhanced to display Utilization Statistics( four new parameters) in the NTE section in case of 155Meg Redback and 155M LTS Cisco 7301 router for a DSL Max Circuit.

Changes to the Existing tools (Contd...)

OneShotCheck

The Profile Consistency Check Section checks whether the QoS profile as applied by the ADQ (Application Driven Quality of Service) is consistent with the existing profile on the B-RAS .

This section will display a message detailing if the ADQ profile speed and the BRAS Profile speeds are consistent or inconsistent

This check is performed when Fault Report Code is EU Performance Problem or QoS session Performance Problem

OneShotCheck

The Policy Manager Transaction Analysis identifies the reason for the QoS (Quality of Service) session terminating prematurely

This section displays the message in case the QoS session is terminated prematurely.

This check is performed when Fault Report Code is Premature QoS session termination

OneShotCheck

The Policy Manager Transaction Data Section is enhanced in order to retrieve the reason from AE (Application Environment) for the Transaction request that has failed

The Policy Manager Transaction Analysis Section retrieves the reason from AE (Application Environment) for the transaction request that have failed.

This check is performed when Fault Report Code is Transaction Request Failed

OneShotCheck

The Broadband routing section will show the TAM Status field and the appropriate message in case of a TAM Enabled circuit

“This circuit is TAM enabled”

OneShotCheck Broadband OSC displays both the AE (Application Environment)

and the ADQ (Application Driven Quality of Service) details of the current EUSC (End User Speed Control) policy.

Transaction ID needs to be entered  in the Request screen and AE and ADQ data specific to that Transaction ID will  be retrieved.

The BB OSC displays both the AE (Application Environment) as well as the ADQ (Application Driven Quality of Service) details of the current EUSC policy.

OneShotCheck

The PTTR section to include 1WQoS (1 Way Quality of service) DownStream performance results

The PTTR subtest showing the QoS performance results and the UpStream/DownStream performance results

This check is performed when Fault Report Code is EU Performance Problem

OneShotCheck

The test now continues when the Service Status is “In Course Of Cessation”

OneShotCheck

xDSLIP subtest will be enhanced to display Utilization Statistics in case of both the 155Meg Redback router and 155M LTS Cisco 7301 router

xDSLIP subtest now displays two new parameters Packets and Packet rate for 155Meg Redback router and 155M LTS Cisco 7301 router.

Changes To The Existing Tools

PTTR Log Tool Fault Diagnostics - PTTR log tool will include QoS (Quality of Service)

performance results and upstream performance results from PT (Performance Tester).

xDSL IP Tool It will display Utilization Statistics( four new parameters) in the NTE section

in case of 155Meg Redback router and 155M LTS Cisco 7301 router for a DSL Max Circuit.

PM Query Tool It will display both the ADQ (Application Driven Quality of Service)

transactions and AE (Application Environment) transactions records.

PTTR Log Tool

PTTR Tool will include QoS (Quality of Service) performance results and Best Efforts performance results from PT (Performance Tester)

PTTR Log Tool Detailed Performance tester results

PTTR Log Tool Detailed Performance tester results - continued

xDSL IP Tool xDSL IP Tool will display the Utilization statistics in the NTE

Section in case of the 155Meg Redback router and 155M LTS Cisco 7301 router

PM Query Tool PM Query Tool will include both ADQ (Application Driven

Quality of Service) and AE (Application Environment) records

Policy Manager Query Tool PM Query Tool will include both ADQ (Application Driven

Quality of Service) and AE (Application Environment) records
