Fast food or Junk food often contains high amount of fat, sugar, sodium and calories and of less nutritional value. Regular usage of fast food leads to diseases like obesity, liver damage, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancers, etc. and permanently damage your health completely. So it is always better to avoid these unhealthy fast foods for better future. In these slides we have tried to include the disadvantages or the side effects of fast foods as we can possible.

Why fast foods are bad for you?

Fast Food Fast foods are the foods that can be prepared and served very quickly. Most fast foods are junk foods. Junk foods are of little nutritional value and often high in fat, sugar, salt and calories. Prolonged consumption of fast food leads to many serious health hazards and diseases are shown in coming slides,

Obesity The extra calories and high levels of sugar, fat and sodium in the fast foods are the primary causes of obesity.

Liver Damage The trans-fat containing in fast foods gradually accumulate in the liver and thereby damage it.

Heart Attack Fast food contains high amount of sodium & Cholesterol. Cholesterol accumulates inside the blood vessels and thereby block the arteries. The high amount of sodium increases the blood pressure. Both of these situations leads to heart attack over time.

Type 2 Diabetes High levels of fat, cholesterol & sodium in fast foods leads to overweight and high blood pressure. These leads to Type 2 Diabetes.

Malnutrition Fast foods are often lack of minerals like calcium, iron, potassium, zinc and Vitamins like A, B complex, C, D, & E. So regular use of fast foods leads to malnutrition and its associated diseases.

Gastrointestinal Problems Processed junk foods are lack of dietary fibers. Inadequate amounts of dietary fibers in the diet leads to gastrointestinal problems like irritable bowel syndrome, colon cancer, etc.
