This is the story of X.
This is X
X was a programmer
Java(19.1%), C(15.2%)C++(10.1%), PHP(8.7%)Visual Basic(8.4%), Perl(6.2%)Python(3.8%), C#(3.7%)JavaScript(3.1%), Ruby(2.6%)
X had a laptop, the latest phone,
a LCD television and he also had a printer.
But X was not happy.
Because X knew the
Earth was dying.
X wanted to “Save the Earth”
But How?
?
So X googled it…
He also joined forumsAsked his Twitter friendsPosted it on FacebookRead blogsRead WikipediaTried every other thing
But X was not satisfied…
X even wrote a
program to ‘Save the Earth’No
Start
Enter ‘Earth’
Save the Earth
Has Earth been
saved?
Stop
Yes
But that also didn’t work! Global Variablesmissing
Then one day.. X set out
to discover the truth…
“The Truth”, he was told, lies hidden in the Himalayas!
The Truth is here.
He traveled thousands of miles…
On his way to “The Truth” he noticed, that
the world is full of people, humans are everywhere.
X’s Journal:
There are too many people on earth! Poor planet cannot take it anymore. I think if we can control our population somehow we can save a lot of resources and we ‘might’ save the earth.
Note to self:
I must practice birth control in my married life with ‘Y’. We’ll have only one child and we’ll call him ‘Z’.
As he traveled far and wide, he faced the brunt of the scorching sun and missed
the shade of trees.
X’s Journal:
Strangely, I am not missing my air conditioner but am missing trees. After all, I cannot carry my A.C with me. The world need more trees to cool down. And then we’ll have regular rains and many more freebies.
Note to self:
It is time I started planting some trees. And I should spend more time in my garden than in my office.
The Road to ‘The Truth’ was difficult. What was making it more unbearable
was the polluted air.
You @$@#$!!Stop driving a cigar!!
*cough*
!!!!!And then he remembered, that it has been months since his car’s last maintenance. It dawned on him that he was himself ‘driving a cigar’!
X’s Journal:
Our cars contribute a lot to earth’s misery. We need to get out of them once in a while to realize the damage we are causing. We might not need better cars, if we can settle for ‘lesser’ cars.
Note to self:
Carpool, regular maintenance, optimum inflation in tires, constant driving speeds – I have to learn many lessons!
And it is time to buy a bike!
Himalayas were far and there were times when he’d have to travel long
distances without water. He had the money, but when water
wasn’t available, money was useless.
I can hazwater!
Soon X realized that a large
part of world‘s population doesn’t care about software
updates and latest mobile phones.
For them, Survival is Luxury!
X’s Journal:
Now that I’ve felt the pangs of thirst and hunger, I respect my luxury and I respect poverty too. Conservation is the key for we need ‘water’ more than the earth needs it. And saving water for one, is saving water for another!
Note to self:
I shall not waste water and try hard to conserve it. No more leaking taps, No sir!!I shall save anything worth saving; electricity, water, food.. Everything.
And as X got closer to ‘the
Truth’, he could feel it from within.
I think I am having the heebie-
jeebies!!
X realized that there are
still people who live without shelter, adequate food,
potable water and basic education.
X understood that the lucky
ones who have wealth, must share some of it with those who don’t have enough.
He learnt the greatest language of all times – the language of nature.
And one day X was there.
The Truth is still here.
Now, X is here
Truth Inside(Handle with
Care)
And in that moment…
He knew it all..
X’s Journal:
I came all the way to discover the truth, thinking that the truth lies somewhere, hidden, waiting to be discovered. I was wrong. The truth is out there, in the open, it isn’t disguised, it is stark naked.
Note to self:
‘Saving the Earth’ isn’t difficult anymore. I realized my folly. You don’t save the Earth – rather, you save yourself!
Now X is famous.
And X is happy.
But Who is X?
Well, like mathematical
equations, X is very much
unknown.
X could be a programmer,
a musician, a student, a dancer, a politician, a banker – he can be anyone, or everyone.
Why don’t you try being
X?
Think about it.*Created by Effect works
