They have used special effects to get a foggy but clearbackground surrounding as this is filmed before sunsetand after sunset as you can see that in the video when itgoes to night time with the stars shining. This videosymbolises that they are stronger together and it showsthey have creativity to use what ever they have in order tofilm this video in the middle of nowhere.

The Genre characteristics of INDIE ROCK GENRE. Indie rock has been independent which describes the small and

relatively attitude of the band and artist to do it yourself. Although distribution deals are often struck with major corporate companies, these labels and the bands they host have attempted to retain their autonomy, leaving them free to explore sounds, emotions and subjects of limited appeal to large, mainstream audiences.

However I think that this video shows the characteristics of dark colours as the indie rock genre represents the use of black, blue, white and grey colours and I think that this video shows them all wearing black they have the lighting in blue and they have

I also see some smoke so this means they have a smoke machine used in the video which gives us ideas to use the smoke machine in our music video. The use of light and dark shows that they are keeping to the genre characterisitics.

There is a relationship between the lyrics andvisual as the video shows that the band are ona boat and they are in the middle of the riverwhere the lyrics say crying lightning. thismeans that in the they are crying while theweather is raining and there is lightning andthunder which emphasises that the weather iscrying lightning as it shown in the video at1minute and 24 seconds.

There is a relationship between the music and visuals is quite contradicting as it shows them on a boat performing in the middle of the ocean with lights on while it’s raining where the music is about crying lightning.

The relationship between the music and the visuals is amplifying because it talks about them music crying lightning and the visual is showing that lightning is crying.

There are loads of close ups of each member especially the lead singer.

There are a few full length shots and some long shots of the whole band together to emphasise that they are a band that is together wherever they go.

There is a frequent reference of them looking at the sky and seeing themselves perform while lightning strikes them.

There is a intertextual reference to the film seven ages of rock about the indie pop.

It has reference to the film titanic where it shows the titanic ship in the middle of the ocean.
