Tuesday, March 10, 2020 Teachers: Please read announcements during 3rd period. Also remind students that they can be found on Canvas every day. Announcements It is Penny Wars Time at WHS!! Penny Wars is a yearly fundraiser by Student Government to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Here is how it works: Between March 9 and March 27, bring as much change as you can into your 3rd period class. Each cent counts as a positive point. A quarter=25 points. If your class is falling behind, bomb other classes by delivering dollar bills to those boxes. Bills are negative points for all those cents, so $1 bill = -100 points. The top 3 scores when the war ends receive prizes: pizza party, donuts, or cookies. Not sure if you can make the top 3? There are other ways to compete. Any class that collects $50 (regardless of points) will receive cookies as a prize. How low can you go? The lowest negative score will receive donuts as well. Let’s do this, Shamrocks!! Tickets are now on sale for the WHS production of Shrek the Musical. Performances are Thursday, March 19 at 7pm, Friday, March 20 at 7pm, and Saturday, March 21 at 2pm and 7pm in the WHS auditorium. All advanced sale seats are reserved: $10 children/students, $12 adults. The link to purchase tickets can be found at whsperformingarts.com. WWS employees are eligible to pick up two complimentary general admission tickets to this production, but comp tickets are only distributed the hour before each performance, and are subject to availability. A friendly reminder to get your tickets now for the Shrek the Musical Character Meet & Greet on Saturday, March 21st at 4:30 pm. Tickets for this limited seating event are only available through Friday, March 13th. Only $5 per person, this event allows guests to meet the characters from Shrek the Musical and take photos, as well as make a craft and have a snack. Tickets are available through whspa.booktix.com. We regret that we cannot offer comp tickets to WWS employees to this event. Shrek the Musical stars senior Tyler Jeffries as Shrek, senior Anya Burke as Fiona, junior Cyle Ginsberg as Donkey, and features senior Gavin Dirks as Lord Farquaad and senior Samantha Lewis as Pinocchio, as well as a cast of over 45 talented singers, dancers and actors. Thank you for supporting the performing arts in your community!
