From the Desk of the Principal

The Annual Report for 2018 of MCKV Institute of Engineering has been published. It is a documentation of various activities – Academic and non-Academic of the Institution. It cannot be dealt in details but this may be treated as glimpses only.

We could achieve as a team some targets as well as we also failed to achieve in some areas. One of the major area of success, we believe is in the placement of 2019 batch, where within October 2018, we could place about 100 students of 2019 passing out batch.

Six of our Students' Chapters of Professional Organisations of different departments organized their programmes successfully. The newly introduced mandatory three week long Induction Programme for the newly admitted students of 2018-2022 batch was organized in a planned manner. Several interaction programmes were organized

for the school students and workshops for Diploma Engineering students. The “Frabric of Technology”, a unique workshop needs to be specially mentioned.

Rotract club, under the ambit of the Rotary Club, Belur has organized many Social awareness programmes of which blood donation during summer months, when usually there are crisis for blood, needs to be mentioned.

Cultural and Technical Fests, Photography competitions were organised meaningfully. Students made oral presentation of their project papers in International Conferences also. Budgetary control and single-window purchase policy were introduced in compliance with the advice of the Board of Governors of the College.

There was not a single instance of students' unrest in 2018. There is of course no reasons for complacency or satisfaction; neither any despair nor despondence; we have to continually improve our performance; since, even the best can be improved.

Prof. (Dr.) Buddhadeb Chattopadhyay

Message of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board has successfully put together a herculean task to collect and consolidate the vast information methodically. It took immense effort to ensure accuracy of the details released in this Annual Report 2018. Coordinators made consistent follow ups to collect information from the respective departments, and also put them in order under different headings and sub-headings. Whereas the Chief Editor and Sub-Editor made the entire planning to organize them in the report format and made them ready for printing. This Annual Report 2018 at a glance will provide insights into various activities, honour & accolades received by MCKVIANs. As always our students have made us proud once more, and have stood out in various contests. Publishing of this elaborate report would not have been possible without the wholehearted and coordinated effort of all Editorial Board Members.

"4 Years in MCKVIE have been a perfect combination of learning and fun ...cannot thank my ALMA MATER enough as I progress in my career.

MCKVIE provided me a congenial environment to learn and grow, giving the right direction to my potential. Thanks a lot to my teachers, academic and non academic staff. Their dedication fuelled my determination.

Exposure to projects, well equipped laboratories and good infrastructure gave me an edge over others and helped me groom into an industry ready professional. I am also thankful to the Training and Placement Office for providing me an opportunity to work with Tata Consultancy Services at the onset of my career.

I feel privileged to be a part of this Honorable Institute. Thank you for the guidance and inspiration which paved the way to where I am today. "

I am happy that my daughter is a part of this institution where students are encouraged to be a all-rounder. The institution gives a lot of opportunity in various fields. Projects are really encouraged in MCKVIE. But, I think mckvie has a lot to improve and stand out to be one of the best institutions.

My daughter and all of her friends are placed in well known organizations and I thank MCKVIE for that.

Wish the Institution all the best.

Mrs. Sanhita BhattacharyaMother of Abhipsha Bhattacharya, IT, batch 2015-19

Before admitting my daughter, Aparupa Ghosh, in MCKVIE, I along with one of my friend visited almost all Engineering Colleges in West Bengal under MAKAUT. But ultimately, we decided unanimously to admit our daughter in MCKVIE. The main reason behind our decision was Safety and Security, which was lacking in almost all the Colleges we had visited. At the

thend of the 4 year B.Tech Degree Course of my daughter, I feel that I had taken a correct decision, because we did not have to worry for a single day during her college period. All the teachers including non teaching staffs and security guards are very sincere and co-operative.

We also feel very happy that our daughter got very sincere and co-operative as well friendly mentors. We have also observed that faces any problem regarding her studies even at home, she never hesitated to call her teachers. Some of them even made extra effort to help and motivate my daughter by initiating /arranging Training in reputed organization. As a result of which my daughter gained confidence and was able to present her Research Work successfully. The same had been accepted by reputed organizations which fulfilled her desire.

Sri Aparesh Ghosh and Smt. Dipa Ghosh thParents of Ms. Aparupa Ghosh, 4 Year IT

We strongly appreciate for sending good number of students. All they are good in programming, few of them having less knowledge in database & programming. However, We have selected 3 students from MCKVIE and all of them are excellent. We are giving them joining slot wise.
