SECOND COLLECTION April 22, 2018 will be for Casa San Juan.

A note for you:

Every person who is going to be baptized or confirmed needs to have a sponsor. This is true no matter whether that person is a baby or child or an adult. All need a sponsor. To be a sponsor is a sacred responsibility. The sponsor is supposed to guide and encourage the one baptized or confirmed to live a life as Jesus teaches according to the teachings and rules of the Catholic Church. The sponsor is to do this by his own word and his exam-ple.Therefore the sponsor himself must be baptized cath-olic. Those who are not catholic even though they are baptized cannot be sponsors. A sponsor also has to have been confirmed and have received First Commun-ion. If the sponsor is married he needs to be married by the Catholic Church. The sponsor is supposed to be a practicing catholic person trying sincerely to live as Je-sus teaches. The sponsor must be at least 16 years old. The sponsor can be either a man or a woman. If there are two sponsors, one has to be a man and the other a woman. Parents cannot be sponsors of their own chil-dren. Remember! To be a sponsor is to take on a sacred re-sponsibility before God to guide, correct, and encourage the one he is sponsoring to live as Jesus teaches, and do this by his own words and example.

“How marvelous it would be if, at the end of the day, each of us could say: today I have performed an act of charity towards others.” Papa Francisco

Like in the gospel today, sometimes our minds need to be opened to know what God has done for us, and what he wants for us in our marriage. Deepen your communication, strengthen your rela-tionship, rekindle your romance and renew your sacrament by attending a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend.
