Learn about new types of contraception, intrauterine devices and the use of copper IUDs for emergency contraception. The upcoming launch of Mifegymiso for medical abortion has the potential to enhance access to abortions in rural and remote areas. Some new data on pharmacist management of hypertension will also be discussed.

9:00 am Session D: Affecting Change in Government & Continental Breakfast Speaker: Joelle Walker, Director, Government Relations, Public & Professional Affairs, Canadian Pharmacists Association Affecting change in government is a long game, however, elections are critical moments in time that can define the advocacy environment for years to come. In an often crowded space, it is important for advocacy groups to differentiate themselves and focus their efforts strategically.

In this session, participants will hear from a variety of panelists about how organizations, and more specifically the pharmacist profession, can contribute to elections, shape public discussion and engage newly elected governments.
