Regency Retirement Village of Tuscaloosa
Hello Residents,
Springtime is my favorite season for seniors because many of you are
retired and have spent the winter being cooped-up indoors. April and
spring go hand in hand.
Spring is a season for renewal and new beginnings. There’s nothing
like breathing fresh air, felling the warmth of the sun on the skin, and
soaking in a little Vitamin D, to renew your spirit.
This month at Regency, look out for all of the excitement: fun activ-
ities, day trips, and socializing to help break the monotony of daily
living. We love our residents and we love what we do!

We took a trip across the world! Well, sort of! As part of What’s Cookin’ Wednesday, we set the ambience and trans-
formed the dining room into an Italian restaurant. Regency Tuscaloosa’s amazing dining staff served up 3 lasagna
varieties, Italian veggies, Italian soup, and a delicious tiramisu! The residents loved every moment of the evening!

April FUN FActs
• In 1957, as an April Fools joke, the BBC reported that Swiss farmers were experiencing a record spaghetti crop and showed footage of people harvesting noodles from trees.
• The first Earth Day had led to the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts.
• Over 90 million chocolate Easter bunnies are made each year.
• According to some sources, the Easter bunny first arrived in America in the 1700s with German immigrants who settled in Pennsylvania and transported their tradition of an egg-laying hare called “Osterhase” or “Oschter Haws.”
