Unit 38 & 82 Task 6 Artist Research

L7mL7m is a street artist that uses spray paint to create art in public places, he usually paints birds, portraits, abstracts and jelly fish.

He was born in the country side of São Paulo, 1988, since his childhood he has won many competitions, since 13 years of age.

Actually, L7M is dedicated to independent work in advertising agencies, exhibitions and workshops at enterprises, cultural centres and schools, conciliating with the urban art freely practiced.

L7m uses spray paint and brushes to create his work, he uses bright colours ad some black.

His work is bright and bold due to his equipment he uses.

The bright blue and pink colour on a grey concrete background, makes this stand out from some of the other artists.

Marcel StobinskiMarcel Stobinski is a German freelance concept artist who makes and design mythical creatures. He used to work for internship InnoGames, Extra toxic and Tons of bits.

His main clients include• Deck13• - Innogames• - Alderac• - Geutebrück• - Medialan

Marcel Stobinski uses warm colours and dark colours to make his work in computer software after sketching them out onto paper and scanning them into a computer.

I liked this piece as it shows the creature in an almost natural form, what it does from day to day. Making an evil looking creature look even more evil.

Mike CorrieroMike Corriero is an American concept artist. He has had 10 years worth of experience as a freelance artist.

He uses programs such as Programs:Photoshop CS2, CS3, CS5 - Painter 9.0, X, Sculptris Alpha.

He excels in creature design, which he also taught as an online instructor for the Academy of Art University along with several workshops published in ImagineFX Magazine, 2DArtist, 3DTotal and Advanced Photoshop Magazine.

He is considered by many of his peers to be among the top creature concept artist in his field

Mike Corriero uses software after sketching some concept art. He uses many types of software to create his art.

I chose this picture from the rest of his work as it shows detail, it seems random and the colour scheme of the entire thing.

Mike LibbyMike Libby (b 1976), creator of INSECT LAB since 1999, is a multi-disciplinary artist who makes sculptures, models, collages and drawings using diverse materials, conceptual curiosity, and diligent craftsmanship to balance it all

He graduated with a degree in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design

Ptolemy ElringtonPtolemy Elrington is a sculpture artist that creates his work wit hubcaps, that have either he found himself or donated by friends and family.

He go the idea when he lived near a sharp turn and wheels would usually lose their hubcaps he planned to make it into a suit of armour, but eventually made them into animals as it was easier and made much better styles for them.

• “Within his work he concentrates on creating sculpture of natural forms from found and re-cycled materials. At the moment he is working with a variety of materials including shopping trolleys, scrap metal and car wheel trims which he re-shapes into a variety of life forms.”

Ryan Berkley

Ryan Berkley is an artist that usually does animal portraits, he is best known for his ‘Animals in Suits’ work. He now owns his own illustration company where he and his wife draw animals for people to hang them up on their walls or what ever they want them to do.

I selected this as it is animals in suits. They are realistic cartoony also painted, and then brushed over with a computer software.

He now works on his work with his wife, and gets inspiration from his daughter who asks him to do a certain animal in any outfit.
