Educational Value
The educational goal of this game is to teach users how to apply basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
The target demographic for this game is children from grades 1 – 6.
Game Concept
Two treasure hunters, Enzo (main character) and Block (sidekick), travel the world in search of treasure.
One day, they stumble upon a map containing 4 treasure locations on it.
Starting Area
§ Each location’s starting area will contain an NPC that asks you a math question when you speak to it
§ If I have time, I’ll finish adding in a store feature so that each starting area would also have its own store
Puzzle Rooms
§ The objective of the puzzle rooms is to step on a sequence of tiles such that the counter on the left equals the room’s designated number on the right
Heuristic Evaluation Feedback
§ Level difficulty – every participant found most of the puzzles to be too difficult, especially the last few puzzles of each location. This was especially problematic considering the game’s target audience is grades 1-‐6.
Heuristic Evaluation Feedback
§ Graphics – most participants didn’t immediately notice where the entrance doors in the puzzle rooms were, this was especially apparent in math rooms where the colour of the walls blended in with the doors
