ASSOCIATION AFFAIRS

Among t h e impor tan t i s s u e s whieh w i l l come up f o r cons ide ra t ion a t the meeting o f t h e AAPHD i n Los Angeles w i l l be a s ta tement o f t h e o b j e c t i v e s of t h e Association. t h e r e s p o n s i b i l i t y t o frame these ob- j e c t i v e s was g iven t o a s p e c i a l com- mittee made up of t h e members o f t h e C o n s t i t u t i o n and By-Laws and t h e mem- be r sh ip committee under t h e chairman- s h i p of John H. Frankel.

The assignment of

This committee working through t h e d i f f i c u l t medium of correspondence among themselves, have submitted t h e following o b j e c t i v e s f o r cons idera t ion :

1. To promote knowledge, under- s tanding , and apprec ia t ion of d e n t a l pub l i c h e a l t h wi th in organized d e n t i s t r y .

2. To provide a medium of l i a i s o n between t h e pub l i c h e a l t h d e n t i s t and organized d e n t i s t r y .

3. To provide a medium f o r t h e ex- ehange of knowledge, i deas , and in fo r - mation and the d isseminat ion of same wi th in t h e d e n t a l pub l i c h e a l t h pro- f e s s i o n and organized d e n t i s t r y .

4. To promote t h e modernization and improvement o f t h e p r a c t i c e of d e n t a l pub l i c hea l th .

5 . To g i v e suppor t t o l o c a l d e n t a l pub l i c h e a l t h programs and personnel and t o f o s t e r new l o c a l programs where f e a s i b l e

6. To promote t h e continued i m - provement i n d e n t a l s e r v i c e s provided i n a l l p u b l i c l y supported den ta l c a r e programs.
