Big, stationary plants operating in a xed location create a

permanent work environment. But, the time and expense it

takes to prepare the site and erect a stationary acility takes

a big bite out o the budget.Portable plant setup is aster and less costly, however, lim-

ited storage capacity and compact components may limit

PRE-WIRING AND PRE-PIPINGAstec mounts, pre-wires and pre-pipes all related components. For easyaccess, power panels are located in either a separate power room orin the lower level o the control center. CT-Rated cable with UV rating*connects motors and power panels. Cable trays hold the cables and

keep them organized and o the ground.

Pre-assembly o parts and components saves setup time. Pre-installedbaghouse components are a huge time saver. Fully pre-wired andequipped control houses minimize start-up problems because plantcontrols have been tested at the actory. These are just some o theways in which Astec makes sure erection and start-up o your newM-Pack goes smoothly.

BULKHEADS AND WING WALLSSave yoursel the expense o constructing retaining walls or your

loader ramps.The cold eed bin and the recycle bin both come with ull lengthbulkheads that extend all the way rom the top edge o the bin to theground. Wing walls swing out to retain the sides o loader ramps.

Our bulkheads are 3/16 thick and braced with structural tubing toprotect your equipment rom damage by loaders. They also keep dirtand debris out o cold eed and recycle bin mechanisms. A walkwayin-between the bulkhead and collecting conveyors gives you accessto the back o the bins and conveyors or maintenance.

LADDERS, HANDRAILS AND PLATFoRMSAstec supplies the stairs and caged ladders required to access compo-nents or inspection or maintenance. OSHA compliant hand-rails aroundplatorms and along drag conveyor stairs help keep workers sae.

VULCANIzED BELTSAstec only uses vulcanized rubber belts. Vulcanized belts not only lastlonger, but also run quicker, smoother and cleaner by eliminating themetal splice.

CoLD FEED UNIT, SCALPING SCREENS ANDINCLINED CoNVEYoRCold eed bin modules ship in two or three bin sections. Modules arepositioned; then the collecting conveyor, extension to the scalpingscreen, bin wall extensions and optional items are installed. Steel

cables anchor the bins to the loader ramp. Standard bin size is10 x 14 eet.

The inclined conveyor ships with load cell, weigh idlers, and the gravitytake-up tensioner in place as a single load. It is set in place and thenthe scalping screen is installed.

DoUBLE BARREL DRUM MIXERTwo main modules make up the relocatable Double Barrel: the ounda-tion rame, which includes the bottom o the mixing chamber, and theinner drying drum. The oundation rame is set o, then the drying drumis positioned. The top o the mixing chamber is raised into place andconnected to the lower section. Attaching the ull length access doorcompletes the mixing chamber. Last, the burner is installed, along withthe virgin inlet breaching and the nes and recycle inlets.

DRAG CoNVEYoR AND SToRAGE SILoSAstec HMA storage systems t any size storage need. The silos ea-ture a steep 66 cone angle which provides segregation-ree load-out through mass fow. Astec silos also eature better insulation thancompetitors models, so they have the ability to store product or our

days without loss o mix quality.

Depending on the size o the silo, legs and batchers are mountedto the silos at the site. Plates at the bottom o the silo legs attach toanchors set in concrete. The drag conveyor comes completely as-sembled except or the top service platorm, which is installed on-site.The conveyor is then raised and attached at the top o the silos. Weldplates set in concrete stabilize the bottom o the drag conveyor.

THE ADDITIVE SYSTEM AND FINES SILoSilos or nes, mineral llers and other dry additives come in a range

o sizes and with a number o metering options. Plates at the bottom osilo legs are embedded in concrete to stabilize these tall structures.

RAP BINS AND RAP CoNVEYoRThe Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) bins ship as a single moduleincluding a skid oundation. An upturned end attaches to its collectingconveyor and goes to the scalping screen o the RAP conveyor. Thestandard system comes with one bin, with additional bins oered asan option. A separate RAP conveyor with scalping screen is includedin the standard system. An optional closed loop RAP crusher systemis also available.

PULSE JET BAGHoUSEThe pulse jet baghouse with primary collector modules ship withoundations in place. Filter bag modules are installed on top, and anairtight seal is created between top and bottom sections. Exhaust aninlet duct, an base and stack are pre-assembled and tted to the bag-

house. Elbows lined with abrasion resistant steel guarantee collectioneciency. Pulse valves are mounted internally to promote consistentperormance by preventing reeze-up. M-Pack baghouse capacitiesstart at 34,000 cm, depending on the plant. Astec oers a choice oprimary collectors: either an inertial separator or a cyclone.

FoUNDATIoNSThe M-Pack oundations are heavy-duty. They provide plenty o load-bearing surace to support the acility components.

The cold eed unit, recycle bins, Double Barrel drum mixer and bag-

house have thick structural tubes under each module leg. Steel skidoundations are used under the exhaust stack end o the baghouse.The scalping screen is supported by skid-type oundations.

I you ever have to move to another site, most loads t on lowboy typetrailers, and the built-in oundations go with them.

THE CoNTRoL CENTERSAll Astec control centers eature welded steel rames and are built toendure the harsh environment o an asphalt plant. The control centerscome ully equipped and are climate controlled. Windows are tintedand slanted, optimizing the operators view o the acility. Astec controlcenters are designed to meet state requirements or permitting.

The Command style control center is available in our sizes: 27 eet,31 eet, 35 eet, 40 eet. The split level design includes an elevatedcontrol room that provides a panoramic view o the acility. Each controlcenter also eatures a rubber tile foor or operator comort.
