Josep Perellis an associate Professor at the Departmentof Fundamental Physics at UB, and former head of Science at ArtsSanta Mnica on behalf of the UB (2009-2012) and now collaborates

with BarcelonaTheLab (City Council). He coordinated the last sixNoves fronteres de la cincia, lart i el pensament [The New

Frontiers of Science, Art and Thought] meetings. He had been thedirector of the Laboratory space where he has acted as a project

director and/or curator of exhibition projects including Social Atoms-

Electronic Lives, Condensed Matter, and Living Systems.

Espai Laboratori in Arts Santa Mnica

(2009-2012)

Around 400m2 in La Rambla of Barcelona.

Cultural space as a mutating space with a transdisciplinary pointof view.

Through an agreement between Generalitat de Catalunya and

Universitat de Barcelona.

Experiments and creations can be held in the midle of artinstallations.

Visitors are motivated to research, dicovery, curiosity and inquiryinstead of providing definite answers.

7 projects, 225'000 visitors in 2.5 years, 1'000 collaborators,16000 participants, 150 schools, 1'000 teachers.
