What is ATB’s Solar Financing Program?

ATB will help you go green with an:

● Unsecured Linked Line of Credit as low as Prime + 2.00%; or

● Unsecured Variable Time Plan Personal Loan with amortizations of 5, 10, or 15 years as low as Prime + 2.00% (5 year variable rate terms only)

Residential Financing

● Loans up to $100,000

● Amortization periods up to 15 years

● Loan value up to 80%

● Rate of Prime + 1.00% for solar panel purchase and installation contracts greater than $25,000

● Rate of Prime + 2.00% for solar panel purchase and installation contracts less than $25,000

● Each customer is assessed and a customized solution is created for them

● Cash security requirements depend on their years in business:○ 0-2 years is 100% cash○ 2-5 is 75% cash○ 5-10 is 50% cash○ 10+ is either 0% or 25% depending on our assessment

● ATB has established a Solar Vendor Financing Program with solar vendors all across Alberta

● Approved solar vendors are given marketing resources (brochures, banners, information packages) to give to their customers free of charge

● All solar vendors are subject to a vetting process by ATB and must be a member of SESA.

● Agriculture: Customer visits solar vendor and obtains approval directly from them

● Residential: Customer visits solar vendor and obtains approval directly from them

● Business & Commercial:○ Customers looking to obtain financing for their solar projects will be directed to one

of ATB’s approved solar vendors. ○ The solar vendors will submit a form outlining the project details and the customer

will be contacted by one of our relationship managers. ○ The relationship managers will work directly with the customer and will advise the

vendor once approval has been obtained.

● Timelines are as follows:○ Agriculture: 3-4 weeks○ Retail: 5-6 days○ Corporate/Commercial: 6-8 weeks

● Please note, all timelines are approximate and are based from the time ATB receives all required information from the customer. Timelines may also vary depending on the size and complexity of the deal.

● Up to $1,000,000 (if owner occupied) or $350,000 (if leased)

Energy Efficiency

● Mortgage Loan Insurance Refund - If you have mortgage loan insurance and buy an energy-efficient home or make energy-saving renovations, you can get a refund on your insurance premium

● Preferred Mortgage Rate - If your new home or renovations meet energy-efficiency standards (an EnerGuide rating of 82 or better), then you could qualify for a preferred mortgage rate

● Green Living Car Loan - If you need to borrow money to buy a vehicle, you may be eligible for an interest rate discount.○ To qualify, the vehicle you are buying must:

■ Vehicle must be a 4 Cylinder, Hybrid or Electric■ Model must be 3 years old or newer

● Eco-friendly MasterCards - With the ATB Gold My Rewards Travel MasterCard, you can choose to donate your points to eco-friendly charities through ATB Cares

Green Living Borrowing

● Alberta Indian Investment Corporation (AIIC)○ Who are they? Financial organization that provides loan capital and general business

assistance to Alberta First Nation entrepreneurs○ Loans to on and off reserve businesses○ Equity financing

● Futurepreneur ○ Who are they? Non-profit organization that offers financing for entrepreneurs aged 18-39 ○ Max Loan Amount: $5,000-$45,000 ○ No collateral taken (only a personal guarantee, no GSA)○ 5 Year Amortization○ 2 Year Mentorship Program included with all financing

● Alberta Women Entrepreneurs ○ Who are they? Non-profit organization that provides unique programs and services to Alberta

women at all stages of business○ Loans of $30,000 - $150,000○ 5 Year Amortization○ Equity requirement: 25%

economic diversification in Alberta○ Flexible loan options○ Lower credit requirements○ Services all Alberta communities with the exception of Edmonton and Calgary
