GREY COARSE-GRAINED GRANODIORITE. (MACKASEY AND WALLACE 1978)

QUARTZ LENSES IN A SHEAR ZONE CROSS THE CONTACT BETWEEN THE

MAFIC METAVOLCANICS AND THE GRANODIORITE AND FORM THE OREBODY

AT THE DTK-DTK NINE AREA ADJOINING THE EASTERN BOUNDARY OF THE

CLAIM GROOP. THE DIK-DIK ZONE STRIKES 1400 AND DIPS

VERTICALLY. THE QUARTZ LENSES ATTAIN A MAXIMDM WIDTH OF 2.7

M. THE QUARTZ IS MINERALIZED WITH PYRITE, CHALCOPYRITE,

PYRRHOTITE, SPHALERITE, GALENA, GOLD AND MINOR ARSENOPYRITE

AND TETRAHEDRITE.

SUMMARY

MY 1993 PROSPECTING PROGRAM WAS CONCENTRATED IN THE CONDUCTIVE

AREAS THAT TREND EAST-WEST THROUGH MY PROPERTY. TRADITIONAL

PROPECTING AS WELL AS VLF WERE USED TO PINPOINT TARGET AREAS

FOR TRENCHING. TRAVERSES WERE MADE IN A NORTH-SOUTH DIRECTION

CUTTING ACROSS THE FORMATION. THE RESULTS WERE VERY DIS

COURAGING AS ALL THE SYSTEMS WERE LOCATED IN SWAMP AREAS. A

WIDE EXTENSIVE SWAMP THAT TRENDS EAST-WEST THROUGH THE CENTRAL

PART OF THE GROUP PREVENTED MACHINE ACCESS TO ANY PART OF THE

CONDUCTORS IN THE NORTH PORTION OF THE GROUP.

THE CONDUCTIVE AREA IN THE SOUTH PORTION OF TB1196440 WAS IN

SWAMP HOWEVER NOT QUITE AS WET AS IN THE NORTH PART.

TRENCHING STILL PROVED FUTILE AS WATER CAME INTO TRENCHES AT

APPROXIMATELY 10 FT. DOWN. OVERBURDEN WAS TOO HEAVY IN ANY

CASE. EXPLORATION TRENCHES WERE PUT IN ACROSS THE FORMATION

IN AN ATTEMPT TO PICK UP MORE CONDUCTIVE SYSTEMS SUCH AS

QUARTZ VEINS, SHEAR ZONES, ETC. NOTHING OF INTEREST WAS

TURNED UP.

Page 7: ATIGOGAMA LAKE AREA - Ontario...at the dtk-dtk nine area adjoining the eastern boundary of the claim groop. the dik-dik zone strikes 1400 and dips vertically. the quartz lenses attain

RECOMMENDATIONS

THE TRENCHING PROGRAM PROVED DNSUCCESSFUL LEAVING ALL THE

CONDUCTORS UNEXPLAINED. SOME OF THE CONDUCTIVE AREAS TO THE

NORTH COULD POSSIBLE BE REACHED IN A DRYER SEASON; HOWEVER, IT

LOOKS LIKE DIAMOND DRILLING IS THE ONLY AVENUE LEFT. I WOULD

RECOMMEND THAT DRILLING BE DONE ALONG THE WEST BOUNDARY,

CENTRAL PART, OF TB1196439. THIS IS THE SYSTEM THAT COULD BE

PART OF THE DIK DIK MINE AS THE DIK DIK IS ONLY A LITTLE OVER

A THOUSAND FEET TO THE WEST.

INTRODDCTION

During Sept. 28 and 29, 1993, P. Lassila and D. Kindla

conducted pro spec t ing-mapping and a VLF EM survey on the

Kindla Lapierre Twp. property. The area was additionally

prospected by D. Kindla, resulting in the discovery of several

old strip trenches. These locations were later backhoe

trenched with a Caterpillar 215 backhoe. Assay samples were

taken from quartz veins exposed by trenches.

All of this work was completed between July 01 and Oct.

31, 1993.

LOCATION AND ACCESS

The property lies across the Kinghorn Road just north of

Atigogama Lake, about 15km. north of Jellicoe, Ontario, and

about 240 km. east of Thunder Bay, Ontario. It is accessible

from Hwy 11, north along the graveled Kinghorn Road which

passes east-west through the center of the property area.

Page 11: ATIGOGAMA LAKE AREA - Ontario...at the dtk-dtk nine area adjoining the eastern boundary of the claim groop. the dik-dik zone strikes 1400 and dips vertically. the quartz lenses attain

WORK PROGRAM

On Sept. 28, 1993, P. Lassila and D. Kindla carried out

a VLF EM survey north of the road with a Geonics EM-166 VLF

unit, using Cutler Maine as a transmitter station. An old

baseline and blazed, hipchained cross lines, at 400 feet

spacing, were used for survey location control. All the VLF

EM conductor traces were flagged between the lines.

Topography was also mapped as the readings were recorded.

The results are presented on Map 1.

On Sept. 28, 1993 the area south of the road was

prospected and tested with VLF by P. Lassila and D. Kindla.

The geology was mapped and the VLF conductor traces were

flagged (no readings were recorded). Two locations over

conductors were designated for backhoe trenching (Trenches fi

and t4). Results are shown on Map 2.

Page 12: ATIGOGAMA LAKE AREA - Ontario...at the dtk-dtk nine area adjoining the eastern boundary of the claim groop. the dik-dik zone strikes 1400 and dips vertically. the quartz lenses attain

WORK PROGRAM cont,

D. Kindla also prospected the general property area and

located a shear zone south of the road. This shear was sub

sequently backhoe trenched (trenches f3 and f4). He also

located several old trenches across quartz veins north of the

road. These trenches were subsequently backhoe trenched and

sampled for assay (trenches f5A, 5B, 5C and 6; Map 2).

A total of eight backhoe trenches were completed with a

Caterpillar 215 backhoe and six samples (001 to 006) were

taken for assay (see Map 2).

Page 13: ATIGOGAMA LAKE AREA - Ontario...at the dtk-dtk nine area adjoining the eastern boundary of the claim groop. the dik-dik zone strikes 1400 and dips vertically. the quartz lenses attain

RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS

The VLF survey north of the road (Claims 1196439 St

1196441, Map 1) defined several VLF EM conductors, all of

which lie in a spruce swamp and therefore are not conducive to

exploration by trenching methods. They may be related to

bedrock conductivity but a heavy conductive overburden

overprint (probably varved clays in the swamp) precludes

definition of any clear bedrock related conductivity signal.

No additional work is recommended for this area.

VLF results south of the road are smilar to those at the

north, in that the conductive zones follow swampy ground.

Backhoe trenches fi and f2 at selected conductive locations

failed to reach bedrock through silty clay overburden.

The geological and prospecting investigations

indicate that the property is underlain by massive

intermediate volcanics. Several old cross trenches were

located. Backhoe trenching in these locations revealed

massive intermediate flows with a few quartz veins to 60 cm.

thick and a few rusty pyrite mineralized shears. Assay

results are pending at the writing of this report.

Page 14: ATIGOGAMA LAKE AREA - Ontario...at the dtk-dtk nine area adjoining the eastern boundary of the claim groop. the dik-dik zone strikes 1400 and dips vertically. the quartz lenses attain

RECOMMENDATION

Should the samples being assayed return encouraging

values, then additional trenching should be carried out at the

location(s) that returned good results. Otherwise no further

work is recommended.
