    since the mid-90s, Koreans give

    Pepero to friends, couples, and

    relatives.

So, the origin is purely commer-

    The First Movie Night

Exchange Students Fieldtripto Hwaseong and Paintbal

For the exchange students eld trip we went to Hwa-

Seong village. Once there, some people left to thehills to have a walk while the others remained thereand experienced some traditional games. Though itwas cold after raining, rain added a special charm to

the colorful autumnal leaves. Suddenly, one of ourstudents left the trail and started to cut through thewoods. All of us told him that he was crazy but we

followed him. Climbing up the hill everyone was hurtfrom the thorns and screaming. But anybody couldntdeny that it was so funny! After this we had lunch and then we ran off to the

paintball game place with expectations. We made two teams, European team and Asianteam. It was a REAL WAR, not a game. We could fee

the tension in the air. Everyone were so serious andtried to ght strategically to win. Even the owner of theplace told us that we were not playing the game, wewere too serious as if we had been in a real war.

After nishing the war we saw a beautiful sunset andtook some photos at the bank of the sea which wasnext to the war place. We were so tired but we all had an amazing time al-

    together!

    Buddy Day 2

For the second Buddy Day, while some people wentto Su-rak mountain, we went to Yang-Pyeong for thekimchi Festival. Just so you know, Kimchi is the mostrepresentative Korean food made with cabbage. Ev-eryone gathered at 8, early morning. Right after we

got there, we went to shing with the cultivator likecarriage. We had to take our shoes off and go intothe water when it was freezing cold. After we caughtsome shes, we ate bossam (Korean style pork). Iwas delicious as it was countrysides style of cookingAfter lunch, we nally went to make kimchi. We cut theradish and mixed the radish with all the ingredientsAnd then we put the source we made into the cab-bage. Theres a old Korean saying that if you makea pretty kimchi, you will have a pretty baby, so I triedmy best to make a pretty and nice looking kimchi. But

ended up with ugly ones haha. A lot of exchangingstudents from different countries experienced reaKorean culture by making Kimchi in the countrysideAfter this, we played a Korean traditional game calledGul-Long-Swe. We also made rice cake by hammer-ing the cooked rice. Just made and hot rice cakeswere so delicious. After eating it, we also ate the troutwe caught. We were so full but happy. It was such anamazing experience! After this long day we got reallyclose and became REAL buddies.

    Yang Pyeong Kim-chi Making Festival

    Surak Mountain

Most of our team members decided to gohiking. When we arrived at the station, there were

a lot of hikers. Happily, the weather was sowonderful. Not having had breakfast, some

people got so hungry and tired out that wecouldnt go to the top. We regretted not hav-ing brought any food...The way to descendwas very rough, however, it was challengingand made us help each other and cooper-ate. After hiking, we ate lunch at pocha(sortof food stalls) -and drunk also ;P.

Even though it wasnt just easy, we had a lot
