GMS  “No  Stress”  Fundraising  for  the  2015-‐16  School  Year

What is this program? No Stress Fundraising is Grayslake Middle School's Direct Donation Campaign for contributing to the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) budget which funds and supports programs, teacher requests, and school needs that cannot be funded within the normal school budget.

Why give through the No Stress Fundraiser? The idea for the No Stress Fundraising campaign was sparked from feedback revealing that a direct donation program would be a preferred fundraising method over sales programs, such as wrapping paper or cookie dough sales. This has been confirmed, as sales fundraisers have traditionally not performed well at GMS.

Last year, nearly the entire PTO annual budget was raised through two book fairs, direct parent product donations, Wine Knows Parents Night Out mixer, and collection of Box Tops/Campbell's Labels (ALL requiring no selling!).

Even with the “no sales” approach last year, we still heard parents ask, “Can I just write you a check?” Well, now the

answer is YES, with the No Stress Fundraising campaign!

How will the funds be used? Once the PTO determines the funds available, they will utilize donations very similar to 2014-15 school year. The GMS

PTO funded the following, totaling nearly $10,000 in cash and product donations:

• Student of the month breakfasts

• Books for the GMS Library

• Monthly Teacher Appreciation Gifts

• Teacher Wish List Requests

• Family Reading Night supplies

• Field Trip Scholarships

• Chromebook Computer sets for classrooms

• Summer reading materials

When can I give? The 2015-2016 No Stress Fundraising fall campaign starts NOW and ends September 18; however, donations will be accepted throughout the school year. The September deadline allows our PTO to forecast and budget for the current school year. How can you help? Making your contribution is easy! Simply write a check payable to GMS PTO, put it in an envelope and mail it to: Grayslake Middle School, Attn: GMS PTO, 440 North Barron Blvd., Grayslake, IL 60030, or turn it in to the office.

We will send you a receipt of your donation. Please include your email address or home address on the envelope so we know which method of receipt you prefer.

All donations are voluntary and very much appreciated.

Please consider giving an amount that is right for your family.
