Proverbs 6:23-24 For the commandment is a lamp, and the Torah is light, and reproofs for discipline are the way of life, to keep you from the evil woman, from the smooth tongue of the adulteress.

Six Reasons We Tend to Get it Wrong:

“You men of little faith...” PRINCIPLE: We expect far too little from the Word due to our lack of faith.

“...why do you discuss among your- selves that you have no bread?”

PRINCIPLE: We tend to interpret according to our own appetites, fears and egos instead of according to God’s intention.

“Do you not yet understand or remember the five loaves of the five thousand ... Or the seven loaves of the four thousand...?”

PRINCIPLE: We are forgetful. (Do something about it!)

“How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?”

PRINCIPLE: We tend to ignore details.

“But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

PRINCIPLE: We need to hear things repeated.

Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the

teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

PRINCIPLE: THIS is always about THAT.

BREAD = Torah LEAVEN = Human alterations

Psalm 62:11 One thing God spoke; two things I heard...

Isaiah 51:1-2 Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, who seek Adonai: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the quarry from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain. He was but one when I called him, then I blessed him and multiplied him. Exodus 13:2 Sanctify to Me every first-born, the opening up of every womb among the sons of Israel, both of man and beast; it belongs to Me.
