However, the shooting didn’t upset Calipari who said UK could win even if he did that provided his other stats and defense were as good as they were against Au- burn. “e only person it bothers? Him. His head goes down and ‘I can’t believe, I missed this dunk. Forget it.’ For our team, it really doesn’t matter,” Calipari said. “If you defense, you get five, six, seven assists and one turnover and you do the rebounding and all the other stuff, we’re going to win. But it’s hard for these kids. e are not robots, not machines.” Wildcats’ seniors share their favorite memories Kentucky’s five senior basket- ball players beat Georgia 88-77 in their final regular-season home game last week have de- spite losing at Vanderbilt Sunday went into this week’s SEC Tour- nament with a double-bye after finishing in a four-way tie for third place. “All wins this time of year are outstanding and are great,” UK coach Matthew Mitchell said after the senior game win. “is one’s a little extra special, just with it being senior night and wow, did the seniors step up in a major, major way.” Before the final home game, all five shared their favorite col- lege basketball memory. Ogechi Anyagaligbo: “A great memory for me will be my first year here, running back from having a common-hour chem- istry exam to see Evelyn Akhator tip out the rebound and get the pull-up layup so that we could beat Mississippi State. Another one for me will be that senior night. I had just met Evelyn that year and I was balling like I’ve known her my entire life. It was awesome.” Jaida Roper: “I have a lot of good memories here. What I will miss the most is probably just being in the locker room clown- ing, I guess. Amanda (Paschal) being in the locker room clown- ing, doing something crazy, making us laugh.” Amanda Paschal: “Some fun moments that I have had is going to the Virgin Islands and being down to injury and playing with one post in that last game, but just winning that championship in the Virgin Islands and coming in the locker room and spraying coach (Matthew) Mitchell with water.” Sabrina Haines: “I have a lot of memories, of course from both ASU (Arizona State) and here, but I think the top one is when we would have team game nights. It was always fun. Hon- estly, my roommates, too. I live with Amanda (Paschal), Nae Nae (Cole) and Kameron (Roach). Sometimes, we just clown for no reason, like we would be talking about the dumbest stuff, but it’s so funny.” Nae Nae Cole: “My favorite memory would have to be going to Italy (for a summer exhibition trip). eir ice cream, gelato, I’ve never eaten so much gelato be- fore in my life, but I will go back and eat just as much. at was definitely my favorite memory because I don’t know if I will ever be able to travel like that again, so that is something that I am very appreciative for.” Jaida Roper waved to fans at Memorial Coliseum on Senior Night and says she’ll miss “clowning around” with teammates more than anything after her UK career ends.
