PROGRAMME OVERVIEWThe Bachelor of Public Relations and Event Management (Hons) programme is not a standard degree in communication. It is designed to provide students with knowledge on Public Relations and in-depth knowledge of the Event Management allowing students to communicate and manage organization images through comprehensive plan,
strategy and execution. The overall objective of this programme is to enhance each student’s versatility and ensure that they are an advantage to any organization that they choose to expand their career at.
Our Public Relations and Event Management students will gain ample exposure to real-world practices with real-world practitioners within the field. Through meticulously designed projects, industrial training and frequent seminars by world-renowned and accomplished speakers a holistic education is part and parcel of our students’ development. Our state-of-the art facilities also guarantee that students will have a hands-on approach in keeping themselves updated with the latest technologies of communication which will nurture them to be flexible and relevant in a continuously advancing society.
Armed with an academic team consisting of some of the most impressive portfolios, the Faculty of Communication, Arts & Media at IUMW prepares incumbents for the everyday challenges of communication. Recognizing the ever changing landscape of society, we aim to produce graduates who have the utmost capacity for breaking frontiers and overcoming barriers in their professional lives.

DURATION OF STUDY
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Malaysian Students• Pass STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in
any two (2) subjects, or its equivalent; and a credit in English at SPM, or its equivalent; OR
• Pass STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid, or its equivalent; and a credit in English at SPM, or its equivalent; OR
• Matriculation/Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent; and a credit in English at SPM, or its equivalent; OR
• Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with Grade B in five (5) subjects including English; OR
• A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; and a credit in English at SPM, or its equivalent; OR
• A Diploma in Media and Communication (Level 4, MQF) or its equivalent;
Note:The credit requirement at SPM level for candidate in categories (i), (ii), (iii) and (v) can be waived should the grades obtained at the STPM / STAM / Diploma / Matriculation / Foundation are equivalent or higher.
International Students• A-Level with minimum of Grade D in any two (2)
subjects, or its equivalent; and a credit in English at O-Level, or its equivalent; AND
• Achieve a minimum score of 5.0 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or its equivalent.
