    Friends

On August 26, at 7: a.m., we touched down in Nairobi, Kenya, at the

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. We were tired an d excited; ready for a rest,

and ready to see and do everythingwe had missed for three long years. We

began by collecting our luggage at the baggage claim. All 30 pieces containing

the essentials for the children were found circling the turnstile. As we collected

    each piece

    a nd p ut

them on the baggage trollies, Kenyan men lined up to

    push

    the

    t r ol li e s fo r

    a

    minima l

    fee.

After counting and recounting, our luggage train began its slow trek

toward the customs counter. Sarah leaned over and whispered that she, Jon,

    an d

Charlie had asked the Lord for an easy time in customs just as our Sabena flight

    wa s touching d ow n o n th e

    tarmac. Ken

    arrived at the customs counter

    first as I

    wa s

directing the middle of the train,

    an d

Jonathan kept t he rear carts in tow. The

customs officer asked Ken three quick questions. Before the carts under Jon's

supervision had even stopped rolling, the officer waved ou r train on through the

doors without opening one piece or levying an y customs tax. Go d blessed us an d

    honored our children's request

    Jon, Sarah,

    an d

doing well. Charlie is at home with us in a Nairobi guest house. The second

    grade teacher RVA

requested an d needed didn t arrive. Therefore, Charlie

will be with us in home school until room becomes available in the boarding

    school

    Thank

    yo u

    for

    your

faithful prayer an d financial support

    in

    ou r closing

weeks Stateside. We are thrilled to be back in Kenya. The tears of joy that we

have shared as we greet brothers and sisters here again have been sweet and

satisfying. Thank you for entrusting us to carry out the Great Commission on

your behalf here among the Maasai in Kenya.

    In quietness

It will be fun to set up a home

    again after

    two

    months of

    semi-nomadic Hving. We will

    move our

    household

    goods

    (which

    we

    stored in a

    sea

    container

    here

    for three years)

    We

    will

    wash

    see

    what is

    salvageable

    Then

    we will

    begin building

    at

    our

    new

    location. We a re

adding a bedroom, a carport to

    protect our new car from

    the

    and

    instead
