Most of the traditional fittingsshown in this brochure are fromthe 1890’s (GA) range whichhave the original exposed topworks, with traditional rubbertap washers.An alternative to this style is the Regent (R) range with “easy-clean” shrouded head parts. Thecode numbers for the Regentrange are the same as the 1890’srange but are prefixed with theletter ‘R’instead of ‘GA’.

For most Regent and GA styleswe can now supply ceramic discheadworks. Regent ceramic disc(RCD) and GA ceramic disc(GCD). These give traditionalstyling with state of the artceramic disc internals. RCD and GCD have three-quarterturn operation.

The Mastercraft (MC) range isbased on our original 1930’sdesign and incorporates a stylishArt Deco theme of hexagonalcapstans, shrouds and spouts.Again, the code numbers are the same as the 1890’s range but are prefixed with the letters ‘MC’ instead of ‘GA’.Mastercraft is not available with ceramic disc headworks.

Throughout this catalogue taps which are available with ceramic discs are labelled withthe suffix CD.

Barber Wilsons fittings aremade to comply with BS1010and BS5412. Many of ourfittings are sent for testing tothe WRc Evaluation &Testing Centre and, therefore,comply with the requirementsof the current water byelaws.In order to comply with thewater byelaws, all fittings

incorporating hand heldshowers have backflowprevention devices fitted. Sinkmixers with single flow nozzleshave listed single check valvesfitted upstream of both hotand cold water inlets.All finishes are electroplatedto the following BritishStandards: Chrome toBS1224, Inca to BS4292.

We recommend that all inca,nickel and chrome finishesare cleaned as follows:After use rinse clean and drywith a soft cloth. Do not usecream or chemical cleaners.By following this procedure,limescale should not form,any problems of this nature,however, should be referredto the suppliers.

We also supply fittings innatural polished brass. This isnot lacquered orelectroplated and will tarnishnaturally. To maintain thepolished finish metal polishshould be used.

Whilst completely retaining aperiod appearance thesethermostatic mixers are suitable foruse with all modern water systems,including gas instantaneouscombination boilers.

Note: Thermostatic showers valvesare W.R.C listed 0210040. Theycomply with the requirement ofByelaw 17 which states that singlecheck valves must be fitted to eachinlet of the fitting. These areincorporated in the inlet adaptors. TT6002, TT6003, TT5700 andTT5702 also comply as theyincorporate single check valves.Byelaws 29, 58 and 73 state thatthese fittings are to be so installedas to be readily accessible forexamination, repair, replacementor operation.

All Barwil thermostatic valves aredesigned and manufactured to theexact standards of the TMV 3Scheme and are factory preset to 43˚C maximum.

Barber Wilsons designed andmanufactured this classic range ofMastercraft fitting in the early1930’s when Art Décoratif (ArtDeco) was so in vogue. Theoriginal hexagonal designs withtheir distinctive facets are an idealway of achieving a bathroom styledin this manner. Their solidconstruction from modernmaterials ensures they are easy toinstall, maintain and use.
