VENT = SYSTEM DESIGNED TO VENT GAS TO ATMOSTPHEREWITHOUT FLARING

COLD VENT = VENT HANDLING SIGNIFICANT FLOWRATE FROMPRESSURISED EQUIPMENT.Suitable for Satellite wellhead installations due to limited source of ignition.

1. Combustion of hydrocarbon converts in to less

objectionable & less harmful compounds.

2. Elevated flares assist in gas dispersion.

3. Elevated flares generally have lower radiation

level.

4. Elevated flare are preferred if effluent are

acidic/toxic.

Remember !!

Should be tapped off from top of the vertical riser, down

stream of launcher to avoid any problems arising out of

sudden change in composition when NEW WELL comes on

line.

Instrument & utility gas system should be separate in order

to avoid liquid carryover in instrument gas system when

demand for utility gas is very high.
