1. Determine your steam generator size

Calculate the shower’s cubic footage (cubic feet = width x height x depth). Recommended ceiling height is 8' or less.

Find the resulting cubic footage below to determine the size of the generator required.

2. Choose between standard and Fast-Response® options

Our standard steam generators are available in multiple sizes and are UL® Listed for your safety. KOHLER® Fast-Response steam generators

produce steam in the shower within one minute of pushing the power button. The Fast-Response units also have the Power Clean feature,

which allows the user to activate an automatic cleaning function to ensure proper, safe maintenance of the steam generator. At the touch of

a button, sediment is flushed out of the generator through the steam head, instead of the manual flushing required on the standard steam

generators. Fast-Response steam generators are required if using the DTV® II digital platform.

3. Select a finish for the control kit

Control kits for KOHLER steam generators consist of a control and steam head. The control regulates time, temperature, on/off and the

Power Clean function. The steam head is where steam is released from the generator into the shower. With a control kit, it's easy to match

your choice of faucet finishes.

Glossary of Terms

AcrylicA high-gloss material used in the manufacture

of select KOHLER® shower bases and shower

stalls, acrylic resists chipping and offers an

easy-to-clean surface and rich color.

CleanCoat® TechnologyThis shower door surface treatment

makes it easier to remove hard water

spots by creating a protective barrier

that repels water and prevents dirt and

water minerals from collecting.

DTV®

Our precision-engineered digital thermostatic

valve (DTV) can run up to eight different

showering components with six ports, and it

delivers up to 21 gallons of water per minute.

Diverter ValveA diverter valve directs water to multiple

outlets, such as to the bath faucet or the

showerhead, allowing you to control separate

components with just one valve. Unlike a

transfer valve, diverter valves do not allow

you to run two water components at once.

This valve can be used with a Rite-Temp®

pressure-balancing valve or thermostatic

and volume control valves.

Digital InterfaceOur digital showering system features intuitive

electronic controls that allow you to operate

and customize your shower experience at the

touch of a button.

FlangeMany of our showerarms include a flange

or ornamental plate to help conceal the area

where the base of the showerarm meets the wall.

Glass ThicknessKOHLER shower doors are available in ¼",

⅜" and ½" thicknesses. Both ⅜" and ½" glass

provides a more substantial look and feel to

the glass panels.

Katalyst® SprayA revolutionary air-induction system that

intensifies water’s rinsing ability and makes

each drop feel bigger and perform better.

KOHLER Enameled Cast IronKOHLER Enameled Cast Iron is made in

part with recycled material and comes in

an array of colors. Our Lifetime Limited

Warranty* guarantees it will not chip,

Komotion® SprayOne of the four flow options on Flipside®

products, Komotion has a circular pattern

for a deeper sense of an exhilarating massage.

Kotton® SprayKotton, one of the flow options on Flipside

handshowers and showerheads, creates a

soft, enveloping sense of relaxation.

Koverage® SprayKoverage delivers a full-face spray for

superb rinsing performance. It’s featured

on Flipside products.

Kurrent® SprayKurrent, featured on Flipside handshowers

and showerheads, eases away aches and pains

and revitalizes with a targeted massage spray.

Pivot DoorAlso called swinging or hinge doors, pivot

shower doors swing open like a traditional

door and provide an easy-to-access,

open shower environment and a clean,

sophisticated look.

Pressure-Balancing ValveThe Rite-Temp® pressure-balancing

valve lets you precisely control your water

temperature – 3 degrees of handle rotation

changes the temperature by 1°F. If the hot

or cold water supply is interrupted, the valve

will automatically reduce the water flow.

RainheadFeaturing Katalyst® air-induction technology,

KOHLER® rainheads deliver a powerful,

thoroughly drenching shower experience.

Semi-Frameless vs. FramelessA semi-frameless door has a metal frame

mounted to the edges of the glass, adding

structure. On a frameless door, heavier,

thicker glass eliminates the need for

structural framing and creates a sleek,

contemporary look.

Shower Locker® UnitsAn ergonomic way to store essential shower

items, KOHLER Shower Locker units are

available in two designs: a self-rimming model

and a tile-in model. Durable and attractive,

both Shower Locker models offer a convenient,

integrated storage solution.

Sliding DoorTypically chosen for baths and large showers,

sliding doors overlap with a smooth, quiet

sliding action. They’re available in an array

of styles, to coordinate with any décor.

Stacked Thermostatic ValveOur MasterShower® stacked thermostatic

valve pairs volume and temperature control

into one assembly, for precise control and a

clean, simple design. A 104°F comfort setting

and 120°F high-temperature stop limit provide

safety and flexibility. The one-piece forged

brass body is built to last and eliminates

potential leak paths.

Steam DoorSteam doors form a tight seal to hold in

steam, creating a spa-like environment in

your bathroom.

Thermostatic ValveWith separate volume and temperature

controls, our MasterShower thermostatic

valve – featuring an innovative shuttle

design – gives you total control of your

shower environment. The one-piece

forged brass body is built to last and

eliminates potential leak paths.

Transfer ValveUsed in conjunction with a Rite-Temp

pressure-balancing valve or with thermostatic

and volume control valves, the 3-way transfer

lets you choose from six different outputs with

a simple turn of the handle.

TransomA transom is a window above a door.

The Lattis® pivot door is available with a

sliding steam transom that allows you to

control the amount of steam contained in

your shower.

Volume Control ValveRequired with the MasterShower thermostatic

valve, our volume control valves give you

precise control of the amount and intensity

of water flow for your showerheads,

handshowers and bodysprays.
