What is a Job Interview?

A Job interview is a process in which a potential employee is evaluated by an employer for prospective employment in their company, organization, or firm. During this process, the employer hopes to determine whether or not the applicant is suitable for the role.

Traditional: The candidate sits and talks with the interviewer usually at the company’s facility. Questions are focused on the candidate’s attitudes; values, and traditional skills.

Chronology of the Interview

• The straightforward chronological interview, where you are asked questions around your CV / Application form• Criterion referenced interviews, where you will be asked to give examples of how you meet their criteria e.g., examples of teamwork, negotiating, leadership

• The off-the-wall questions where you might be asked some bizarre questions. This is to see if you can think on the spot and how creative/logical you are.

As the following probe suggest , take time to review the salary and benefits package of comparable position before you interview . Most often on a college campus no financial detail are confirmed in an initial meeting .
