Welcome to the 2015 Be-A-Star Program: Spotlight On Us
Compass Group has succeeded for 20 years by keeping the focus on our customers and giving them our very best, every day. When a milestone year rolls around, it calls for a celebration of our company and our people. This year’s Be-A-Star theme, Spotlight On Us, centers on the inclusive word “Us.” It says that every associate is essential to our company’s growth and prosperity. We can all share the spotlight, and enjoy the rewards of the team approach that has helped us lead the industry for two decades.
The Be-A-Star program gives you goals that will help you be successful, while offering you the opportunity to be recognized for being the best. Star Achievements are tasks aligned with your division’s MAP objectives and other goals. The program consists of 3 Star periods, aligned with the first three quarters of the fiscal calendar. In the fourth quarter, results are tallied, and national winners are determined. Challenge yourself and your team to exceed expectations, and you may be among the winners!
You can access your program instructions, find support, upload submissions and claim Stars right here on the Be-A-Star website. We’ve done our best to make it simple and to give you links to everything you’ll need. Please help us keep it ‘green’ by completing and submitting all reports and forms electronically.

Chairman’s MessageBe-A-StAr 2015
Welcome to the Foodbuy 2015 Be A Star Program
This year’s Be-A-Star program has had some of the biggest changes experienced in the last 15 years. We have listened to your comments and for the coming year the stars been trimmed down and aligned with the fiscal calendar. Also in keeping with the “Spotlight On Us” theme, the program will be delivered completely online. All the information that your team needs to participate and claim the 3 stars will be found on the Be-A-Star website.
Some things that are not changing this year? Your Foodbuy Be-A-star Committee will continue to be compiled of a group of your peers. The committee will select an Associate of the Month from your submissions and at the end of the program, an Associate of the Year will be chosen based on the nominations received. We will also continue to have monthly awards for our winners as well as those associates who are nominated in a particular month.
For our Be-A-Star Teams, we will select one winning team per Star. As in the past, in order to be eligible, each team must turn in their star on time and complete all instructions to qualify. At the end of the 2015 program, a Team of the Year will be selected from the list of teams that have completed the three mandatory stars.
Please review the information carefully and explain all of the details to your team. If you have any questions you can contact Marti Schrapper, Susan Brady or someone from the Be-A-Star Committee for assistance.
We know that you will enjoy this year’s Be-A-star Program, “Spotlight On Us!”
WarmRegards,
Tony ShearerChairman
