THOUROUGHLY
DRENCH
nests with approved
insecticide. A light
sprinkle is not effective
as the nest goes deep
under ground.
IDENTIFY nests by its
distinctive raised
mounds with no
apparent opening and
treat with bait or
insecticide.
BAIT with AMDRO or
other recommended
brand. Bait is carried
by the ants to the
Queen, and the colony
eventually dies.

STOP LITTERING !
Ants are attracted to
food sources.
Dispose of your
garbage properly.
The Invasive Red Fire Ant can affect the way we use our outdoor spaces.
It can negatively impact our native species, the environment and the
livelihoods of farmers by damaging crops and harming livestock.
This invasive pest may never be eradicated, but can be controlled by
following the steps below.
INSPECT play areas to
avoid disturbing
nests.
Ants swarm when
disturbed.
DO NOT pass
a trimmer or lawn
mower over a fire ant
nest!
Once disturbed, the
ants will spread to
new areas.
