Volunteers Across the SeasThe Sensory Book Project

For Bnai Mitzvah youth, Sunday school classes, day schools, religious schools and moreby Marilyn Spiegel

The Sensory Book was inspired by a Sensory Quilt made by IlanaSpiegel (granddaughter of Marilyn and Marty), for her Bat Mitzvah tzedakahproject. Marilyn has adapted the idea into a non-sewing-required book form, which can be easily made by a student for a tzedakah project or by a Sunday

school class, etc. The books are designed to help develop visual, sensory, cognitive and communication skills. The books require only cutting and

ironing to assemble the various pages. The kits have been packaged with allthe necessary materials and instructions, and can be purchased for $18 (withall profits benefiting Beit Issie Shapiro). The books cover various subjects

    such as; numbers/counting, shapes/textures, holidays, animals,daily functions/emotions, etc.

What a great way to create a hands-on Mitzvah gift that your new friend atBeit Issie Shapiro needs and will cherish
