BELFAIRS ACADEMY
News and Views SHAPING THE FUTURE
Shaping the future of our young people is always in the forefront of our minds at Belfairs. So many
events have taken place in the last seven weeks. Welcoming our Year 7 and Year 12 students into the
academy has been such a great experience. They have settled in well and engaging in all the activi-
ties on offer. The internal building works are on track to open in December ready for use after the break,
and we look forward to showcasing the extra learning areas when you visit. We are making full use of
having our visitors on site, with our careers advisor working with the company, so students
can see all the different careers that are needed when completing a new build. From
architects, project managers, engineers and electricians to name but a few.
I would like to thank all our parents and carers who support the academy. The letters of
congratulations and thanks to our staff are welcome and well received so thank you for
taking the time to write to us. Enjoy the break.

Kenya Trip
.
It was an incredible
experience, both
enjoyable and eye
opening.
Alex
Here are some comments regarding the students
experience of this amazing trip. It was inspiring to see the students of the
school playing outside with hardly a care
in the world despite the living conditions
some of them found themselves in. I found
that the spirit of most of the Kenyans was
unbreakable with many being eager to
participate in our efforts to improve the
living standards of the community.
Josh
Visiting Kenya and learning about the
culture for a month was an eye-
opening experience and one that I am
so grateful to have had. Not only have
I come back more content with life but
also a greater appreciation for the
efforts these people have to put in just
for basic necessities that we (in the UK)
can obtain at the click of our fingers.

Fantastic French !
Year 7 Student Lilly Solo-
mons created this amaz-
ing piece of work.
The task was simply to
create a calendar show-
ing the different months
in French but she spent
several days making one
out of felt. Each pocket
has information about
each month, e.g. differ-
ent festivals/holidays,
little love hearts in Febru-
ary for Valentine’s Day.
