Neste museu você irá ver e saber acerca deste grupo que está a

beira da extinção.In this museum you will see and get to know about this

Por volta do ano 2.270 foram

vistas as últimas famílias compostas por

pai, mãe e filhos.

The last kind of family to be seen made up of a father, a mother and

children was around the year 2,270.

Um pouco antes desse período,

quase não se via uma mãe ou um pai em casa cuidando dos filhos, do lar e

da família. Eles foram

trabalhar fora.A little before this period, it

was almost uncommon to see a mother or a father at home

taking care of the children, the home and the family. They had

to be out at work.

Já no século XX, era costume o pai ser recebido pelos filhos em casa, após um dia

de trabalho. Ele era o provedor do lar.

In the 20th century, the father used to be received by the children when he got home from work. He was the bread

winner of the household.

Naquela época as crianças tinham um pai que morava com elas.

Este pai convivia com os filhos diariamente e passeava com eles nos

fins de semana.During those times the children had a father that lived with them at home, that spent time with his children daily and took them out at the weekends.

Nas apresentações da escola os filhos procuravam o olhar

de seus maiores fãs: seus pais.

E o aplauso deles era a garantia da

felicidade! At the school presentations

the children watched out for their biggest fans: their

parents and the applause from their parents guaranteed the

children’s happiness!

Os pais podiam corrigir o erro e disciplinar os filhos.

The parents could correct their children`s errors and discipline them.

Quando os filhos precisavam de colo tinham um

de seus pais por perto para

carregá-los a hora que

quisessem.

When the children needed a cuddle they had one of their parents close by in

their hour of need.

No dia das mães a família toda se reunia na casa da avó e a cama se enchia de presentes dos filhos, dos

netos…On Mother`s Day the family all went to the grandmother’s house and the bed was filled with presents from the sons,

daughters and grandchildren…

Era difícil esperar até o dia dos pais para entregar ao papai o presente feito pelos

próprios filhos: A camisa com sua

mãozinha, o quadro pintado, o cartão com moldura de gravata... It was difficult to wait until Fathers

Day to give to their daddy their handmade gift; the shirt with their

handprint on it, the picture they had painted, the card with a

necktie frame…

No tempo da vida em família, a melhor comida era a da mamãe.

Era o papai quem ganhava no jogo de dama ou de bola.

In those times of family life, the best food was home cooked by mother.

It was the father who won the games of chess or ball.

Quantas brincadeiras correndo soltas com os irmãos e primos!

Esconde-esconde, casinha, queimada…

How much fun and games running around with their brothers and cousins! Hide and seek, playing house, tag…

Os brinquedos espalhados pela casa... Os risos, os choros.. Fartura de vida.

       Casa cheia não só de gente, mas de amor e contentamento.

The toys spread out around the house… The laughs, the tears… Life lived to the full. A house was full not only of

people, but of love and contentment.

Nas famílias havia coisas que não cabem neste

museu: abraços, beijos, lágrimas,

risos, personalidades,

cachorros, papagaios…

In the families they had things that do not fit in this museum: hugs, kisses, tears,

joy, personalities, pets…

Ah! Os jardins! Eles não poderiam faltar neste museu!

Ah! The gardens! They could not be left out in this museum!

As casas tinham jardins.

Deles as avós retiravam plantas para enfeitar ou

para fazer chazinhos caseiros para os filhos

e netos. ! The houses had gardens.

Out of these the grandmothers took plants to decorate the house or

to make teas for their children and

grandchildren.

Férias também se passavam em família.

Na roça, na praia ou na casa dos parentes: estavam todos num feliz

ajuntamento.Holidays were also spent with the family. On the farm, at

the beach or in the house of a relative: altogether and contently happy.

Para eles estar em família era o que

fazia a vida valer a pena!To be together as a family was what made life worth living!

Como se iniciou o processo de extinção das famílias? ... Bem, é uma longa história…

Mas, lembre-se que, se você os deixar ir, talvez nunca mais os tenha de volta.

How did the process of family extinction start? ... Well, it is a long story… But, one remembers that, if you let the family go, then it

possibly will never return.

Às vezes, nos ocupamos tanto com

nossas próprias vidas,

que não notamos que

os deixamos ir …

Sometimes, we are so occupied with our own lives, which we don`t

notice that we let them go…

Outras vezes nos preocupamos tanto

com quem está certo ou errado,

que nos esquecemos do que é certo e do

que é errado.Other times we are so

worried about who is right or wrong, that we forget what is

right and what is wrong.

Foi assim que as famílias começaram a desaparecer…

Mas hoje temos este museu para visitá-las.

And so it was that the families started to disappear… But today we have this museum to visit them.

Certa vez alguém falou sobre um ciclo de morte que estava se instalando nas famílias. E leu na Bíblia como seria a

cura:Once upon a time somebody told us about the

cycle of death that was creeping inside families and read from the Bible how it could

be :

Salmos 128.1-6: "Feliz aquele que teme a Deus, o SENHOR, e vive de acordo com a sua vontade!”

Psalm 128.1-6. “Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in his ways”

Mas parece que não deram

atenção suficiente...

E as famílias foram se

extinguindo...

But it seems that they didn’t pay

enough attention… and extinction of

the families began…

Nossa visita ao museu termina

aqui, com o livro que foi publicado a cerca de dois

séculos atrás, no ano de 2008 e

falou sobre estes acontecimentos:
